Load Assist Buttons
Anyone got any leads on how to get stock or aftermarket load assist buttons? I ordered a couple 10 round long magazines today and I'm planning on modifying them to 25 rounders. I had seen just using a nut and bolt here and there but I wasn't sure if there were any nicer looking options out there.

Been lurking here since I picked up the 15-22 back in early January.
I got the 2 as well from Midway and one of the 2,100 round packages from Cabelas!!! All in one day!
Canceled my order from promag for 2 32 rounders placed 1/16/2013... I am glad to I thought they were a tad too long and I wanted S&W ones anyway. I have "email me when in stock" with about30 companies it seems. I could've gotten one from 44mag.com, but I wasen;t going to pay $60 for one 25 round magazine.
I think I'll order the ones from ebay cause I plan on makin them 23 rounders (read you had to modify the follower to get 25 rounds?) as soon as they arrive.
Both Cabelas and Midway say shipped.
Thanks again guys!

The REC's are great. Plus, you can try the loading tool out.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, or is that why there is a hole in the center? So that it can spin freely around some type of rod? I think I'm going to order some of the Raven Eye Customs, but not if they have the same issue.

I received mine today, but I haven't modded my mags to install them yet.

I have the Raven Eye Customs LABs and have installed them on all my mags. Some of them did the same as you experienced. They just need to be worked a little. Push them down several times and they'll loosen up.

I haven't had any issues with the ones I installed on my converted mags?
They cycle just like the factory LAB's.
I just ordered a couple more mags, so I need to order a few more of the LAB's that are listed in the link.
I'll keep an eye on the new ones after I mod the incoming mags and install the LAB's. If I have any issues, I'll be sure to post up about them.

I made my own load assist buttons. They were cheap and easy. Just went to my local ACE Hardware store and picked up a bunch of nylon 10-24 x .75in bolts and matching nylon lock nuts. Just trim the excess bolt and grind or sand the nut to be slightly thinner so the mag fits in the 15-22 magwell. It works great.
This is a pic of my load assist buttons on a 15rd shortened mag that I made.

Nice Job Heatwave3
That's some nice work on that mag. How much did you have to trim off to achieve the 15 round capacity?

Here's a thread I put together on how to make a 15rd magazine out of the oem S&W 10rd long magazine (or out of a 25rd magazine). It's a pretty easy project and its actually kinda fun to do. Makes for a much better setup for bench shooting or for use in States with a 15rd magazine limit.

I just installed 2 sets of Raven Eye & I too experienced them being too tight. Working them up & down a few times helps some but they are still noticeably hanging up about half way down. Not sure if this will cause feed issues or not. As they hang up, the buttons start spinning as opposed to simply sliding down.
If I take a S&W 25 round magazine & push on their buttons, there is a very noticeable amount of play back & forth. With the Raven Eye buttons, it is noticeably tighter.

I ordered some from Raven Eye as I'm simply trying not to order anything from AntigunBay given their stance on my favorite toys, not really a boycott per se just avoidance when I can... which is most of the time

I installed 2 yesterday but first compared them to the oem LAB and noticed that the gaps of the oem were wider but not by much. I think that as the REC LABs are used, the plastic will eventually wear down to the point where the button will slide easily.

My latest addition of 10 round longs arrived from Midway a few days ago. I removed the limiting pins in them in preparation for when my LAB's.
Well they arrived in the mail this morning. I was able to install them in just a few seconds, reassembled the mags, and began cycling them.
No issues of any kind?
Not sure if perhaps thomaswgoodwin received a defective LAB, or maybe there was some debris in mag?
Hard to say, but I have had great results with these LABs. Great fit, well made, and perfect functionality.
Not bad for under $3.00.
