Default found a 15-22 today

I was looking on gunbroker for a buy it now deal and happened to find a gun shop that had them listed that was only 55 miles away. At 5 am, i was asking by email if they had any and the in store price for a threaded barrel model.

i received an email reply about 2 hours before the store actually opened. they had them with a price of $449. So the oldest daughter(age 11) and i went for a little drive. I had my choice of the moe version($599) or the one i had originally emailed them on.

i already had some furniture, including a red dot, from a junk mossberg 715t that i had sold so i went with the non-moe.

now i need to clean it and get to the range with some nice weather.

.22lr was $60 to $80 per 500 there. they had lots and i left with out any. good think have a lot left from the mossy. they also had the plinker tactical 35 round mags for 49.95. i left them there too...

are the aftermarket mags as good as the smith mags or are there issues with them?

The 32-round ProMags are as good as S&W magazines. Plinker Tactical is a toss up. It's a 50/50 chance that what you get will be malfunction junction.

thanks, i wasn't sure if they were any good or not...i'm leary after the mossberg...some of the issues i had with it were in part due to the mags...

a lgs has quite a few of the plinker tactical mags, at a slightly cheaper price. i think i can wait. i don't think it will take me long to go through the 1500 rds that i have left. i thought i had more.

plus loading the plinker tactical ones will make you wish you were dead.

I've had decent performance from the promags though.

The Plinker Tactical are Junk. The one I bought a while back went right back. I have never had a single failure with S&W mags and I could even get 2 rounds out of that ***.

i know...the wife and i(mostly the wife) couldn't see spending $500 on a .22 when i could get the other for half that. lesson learned as i sent it back to mossberg twice in the first 3 months. luckily a friend bought it for just a little less than what i paid, even knowing the issues with it.

well, now it's time to clean it...
