Default JP spring kit and polish job?

Well an expensive drop in trigger won't happen for me. AC went out at my house and its going to be expensive. So I was thinking of doing the JP spring kit and a polish job. Has anyone done this? How does it feel after? Also, what does this do to the warranty?

The results vary from one FCG to another... Anywhere from one to three pounds, all dependent upon the extent of the polishing.

It has zero impact upon the warranty.

Search on youtube --- I remember seeing videos of people showing before and after results.

Your results could vary from what someone claims. However, polish and springs will improve upon what you currently have, possibly by a large degree. I did the same thing you are mentioning, with the addition of bobbing the "hook" off the hammer to replicate the JP Speedhammer. I've never had any light strikes since doing this that could be attributed to this mod. (Sure, I've had one or two in about 1500 rounds. These were all with bulk packaged ammo and I'd bet on this being an ammo issue as they fired just fine the 2nd time through the rifle.) I don't think you'll be disappointed with going this route. It won't be a target trigger, but for $15 or so you can't go wrong.

Yea I did the same but used a JP red spring on the hammer and yellow on the trigger just to insure no lite strikes... a little polishing and a little moly grease...worked for me... for now...

I have kinda grown used to the current trigger, and have to wonder if a lighter pull would improve the shot. I can group pretty close with out of the box trigger. And I speculate that a lighter trigger will be an improvement seeing that I am used to what came out of the box. It would almost be a whole new training program to overcome. But followup shots may be better. Things that make you go mmmm. Although follow up with this rifle is way to easy. Absolutely no recoil. I almost wish it had some recoil, to prep for larger caliber. After all this is the little brother to an all out AR15. And that platform has a follow up shot, nothing compared to the 15-22. But the mechanics are the same.

For a lot of us older dogs who were introduced to the Stoner-platform with the M16 in Vietnam, the thing seemed as soft shooting as the 15-22 does now. I had no training stateside with the M16, all we did in BCT was with the M14 which had a solid, big-rifle recoil. So when I got in-country and was issued one of these little Mattel Thunder-Burp look-alikes I was amazed at how softly it shot, even on full rock n'roll. I'm at the age now where big recoil is less of a thrill (yet I own and shoot three 1911's, two in .45 ACP!) and I really don't miss even the gentle nudge of a 5.56 in an AR. I like keeping my sight picture spot-on while I hollow out the center of a target without trying to chase it because of Newton's Third Law all the time.
