Default Primary Arms 1-4X Ill. Scope & Mount

Just ordered a 1-4X scope from Primary Arms on a PA deluxe mount. Hope this fills all my optics needs.

Anyone have one of these? I'd love to hear some opinions. Good opinions, hopefully....

I like it a lot. Great for short range shooting and accurate at 100 yards on the 4x magnification setting. It adds weight but is nice and clear. Great scope for the money. I've only had red dots until I got this so setting it up for the proper eye relief took some playing around with. I'm very happy with it and my kids are happy I finally got some magnified glass.

I am thinking about putting it on my 15-22 to see how I like that set up also.

(On my M&P15)

curious if shooting this at 1X, are you able to shoot both eyes open as if it were a red dot?

Yes, you can. However, you have to hold a strong cheek weld as you need to maintain the proper eye relief.

I have one and I'm pretty satisfied with I, although I wish it was 1-8x. Don't bother trying to use the lighted center dot. It's useless until after dusk, but the German #4 reticle is good for fast target acquisition at 1x with 2 eyes open.

I've never heard it called a German #4 reticle before. What EXACTLY makes up a German #4?
