ProMag 32 rd mag
Any good? I don't really need another mag, but found one in my local honey hole for $15, new in the pkg. I suppose I should just buy it and put it back for the next crisis. It'll surely be worth 4 to 5 times what I pay for it. What say ye, brethren??

Why bother when OEM S&W magazines can be found pretty often now?
Also, for what it is worth, I find it repulsive to stock up so that during the next crisis you can charge your "brethren" 4 to 5 times what you pay now. That is not how I treat my brothers.

They work just fine, and that is a good price for one. They are generally $18-$20

They work exactly like the S&W magazines, except you get 7 more shots and they look too long

Thanks much! THAT answers my question, unlike some other unwarranted comments.

When you ask a question on a public forum, there is no such thing as an "unwarranted" comment, and if you mean what I think you meant in your first post, I really hope you aren't as bad as you made yourself look.

I also have several and they work just fine. I hooked up several of my S&W brothers up with several of them also for what they cost.

It's all about interpretation I suppose, read it again with an added emoticon...
" It'll surely be worth 4 to 5 times what I pay for it "
I didn't read it as he was going to buy 50 of them and wait for a crisis to exploit others, but I agree there is no such thing as an unwarranted comment on a forum. So everyone is right .

Maybe you need to read it again. He explicitly states he doesn't need another magazine and states he will put it back for the next crisis, when it will be worth more. Put all the smileys you want in there, but it doesn't change what he said.
Hey, I have no problem with anyone preparing for the future and making a profit. Just don't call me your brother as you screw me.

I read it and understood it as an investment that will be worth more in the future and not to sell, but that is just me. Also, I disagree, he asked a specific question, why would you provide a completely different answer? If I asked, "pass the salt" and you answered "pepper is better", would you find it annoying? I would. Otherwise people would never ask questions if they expected random answers. To answer the ops question. I got 2 and did not noticed any difference in performance vs oem. Holds more rounds, cheaper most of the time, you can take off screws and split and clean, black follower if color is an issue and looks and feel just like the oem (maybe a bit on the long side)...

How can something be an investment, if you are not planning on selling? When I purchase a magazine, it is not an investment... it is a tool. It could only be classified as an investment if I did as the OP stated... put in back and wait for the next crisis.

I see it as an investment cause instead of paying 45 when I needed I pay 15 when I dont. I set it aside and its there at low cost. The payout is in savings. People buy in bulk to save money by paying up front. They dont need 32 rolls of toilet paper but they buy it now. Thats how I see it, but the op can clarify his intentions if he chooses to.

What random or completely different answers have you seen here? Folks have stated the Promag is fine. Others have stated they would suggest sticking with OEM. Points have been made as far as the difference between the OEM and the Promag. To me, that seems like a reasonable discussion and complete on topic.
I still wonder why someone would pay $15 for a third party part when the OEM could be purchased for almost half that price? A post here mentioned on the day this thread started that you could get 2 OEM magazines for $16.99. You really don't think that is relevant to the OP's post? You think that is pepper?

......besides how can anyone screw you. Someone sets a price and you either choose to pay it or walk away. If you choose to pay an inflated price you're only screwing yourself by supporting the market. If you don't buy overpriced items people won't have them for sale for long.

You can get 2 OEM mags for $16.99 each, plus shipping. Not half the price.

I said almost. One 3rd party for $15. Two OEM for $16.99. You really think the 3rd party is a bargain?

That's what I'm tryin to tell you. The OEM mags are priced $16.95 each. Not $16.95 for two. If he can find the 3rd part mags local for $15 and not pay shipping it's not a bad deal. I would still rather have OEM, but a guy needs options right.

While it's true that he asked a question, he also added a comment after it. Some chose to reply to his question, and some to his remark. If it were simply a question, do you really think we would all be having a debate instead of tea and crumpets?
So metaphorically, he didn't just ask for salt, he also insulted the chef.

The question is pretty clear, are promag 32's any good. Yes or no, why type question. Did he added a comment that depending on the reader could take it wrong or good. Yes. Does that mean we get to ignore the question and just go on a bash fest? I dont think so. I have still not seen the Op clarify his meaning. Until he does I dont think is worth arguing about it. Lets just answer his question and move on. That is just the nature of the written text. Why else teenage girls spend hours sending a 1 word text?
So Claymore, did the Chef at least add more salt while spitting on the soup? LOL...

So I guess that buying into the Stock Market or buying gold and silver as an investment in the future is morally bankrupt to some of the members here? I fail to see any difference.
Some of the people on this forum seem to be from Glock Talk where they lay in wait for someone to make a comment they can pounce on.

Why would you care if something is any good if you are not going to use it, I don't know. I just got into this & some of the ammo prices I see make me wonder what I was thinging
I just got a Plinker Tactical 35r & I do plan to use it if I ever get mine back & it is any good.
Are they & what would be a good price ?
