That normally IS a problem and one of the complaints some folks have with Midway. I'm surprised that the CS rep agreed to hold your order.

It's all coming to me now. I think the reason why my 2 mags haven't shipped is because I have a backorder on some ammo. I bet they are holding the mags until the ammo comes in.
On there website they have a new policy to hold all back orders for up to 90 days and try and ship everything all together. After 90 days they will ship what they have in stock from your back orders to you. Then when anything else comes in I guess they ship it to you. Who knows...

Didn't anyone learn anything from the Pmag scare?

There's at least two reasons people want 10-round short magazines, even though more expensive than 25 round ones:
1 - They WANT the short magazines! No other excuse is really necessary.
2 - They live in one of the communist controlled states that have outlawed possession of 25-round magazines.

3 - Shorter mag gives a nice low profile look to the gun.

4 - They work much better off a bench or prone.

My eleven AR's have 20 round P mags, my 15-22's have ten round short, my dedicated DPMS .22 uses 15 round, I have lots of higher capacity mags for them that sit in range bags...just my preference as I do not see the "red hoard coming over the hill" (you need to have experienced the seventies and eighties to understand) and shorts are more convenient. If the commie states found out someone liked the shorts they would probably legislate for higher capacity :-)

+1
I feel no need to see how fast I can burn thru 25 rds and don't need the 25 rd long magazine "wannabe fashion statement". I got a 15-22 for Steel Challenge, Ruger Rimfire Challenge etc and a 25 rd magazine just slows transitions. The short 10s are just right. If I start shooting matches where the COF requires more rds I will use a 25 but they're pointless and inconvenient when not necessary.

No, I don't believe anyone has made shorts in FDE. Paint is you only option.

I painted several S&W, Black Dog mags in FDE and OD with Wally World Krylon camo paint. Let them dry good and then use Krylon satin clear over the top. The paint will rub off where the mag release drags but no big deal. Make sure you let them cure before use and expect some drag until they are broken in.

And real curing, not "dry to touch", take about a week at normal room temperatures.

I ordered my 2 10rd short mags on 11-2-13 and they were shipped 12-6-13. I received them 12-11-13.
Now, if all my backordered ammo would ship, I would be happy.

Probably Midway. Lately, they've been allowing backorders on short 10rd mags and some .22lr ammo.
I've had some on backorder with them for a couple weeks. Still on backorder.
