Default Hello everyone

Hey everyone just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I just picked up an MOE M&P 15-22. I have been lurking here for a bit. Reading reviews and such. I'm heading out to the range to do some shooting Sunday and can't wait to finally get a chance to shoot her. I hope to do a few upgrades in time and will be looking forward to all of your input.

Welcome! Congrats on your purchase. I went with the same one myself a few months ago. Picked up some ammo the last couple of days and will be doing the same. Annual range membership expires this month and this will be my last time to go before it expires. Have FUN!!

Welcome to the forum.
You made a great choice with the MOE. I have the same gun, but I have the FDE. You will love shooting that thing. I know I do.
Let us know how it goes at the range.

Default DITTO

got my new MP 15 22 on Friday and will hit the range on Monday (but frugally as there is still a real shortage of ammo).
I had managed to get a big box of Winchester Wildcats a couple of months ago only to read the book and find that they are not recommended for the 15 22.
I'll have to use some of my precious CCI stingers and velocitors.
Has anyone had any issues with Remington 22 yellow jackets as the gun shop sold me acouple of 50 round boxes with the rifle ?

The info in the manual, (ref ammo) is old, I would try them If I had a brick. I have used several "not recommended" brands of ammo with out any issues.

Plus with the ammo shortage, your choices are very limited.....

Of the many types of ammo I've tested in my 15-22, the yellow jackets were the only ones to give me issues, with 3 stove pipes in 100 rounds (everything else has functioned 100%). Of course, you may have different results and even though I won't be feeding mine any more of that ammo I'd still recommend you try it to see how your rifle likes it.

p.s. I got some of my best groups with velocitors. Too bad they are so pricey...

I ran mainly Bulk Federal which I have had for a few years now. About 200 rounds. Only issue I has was FTJ. It was a BLAST to shoot. Also about 100 rounds of CCI 36gr. No issues with the CCI ammo. I would like to find a new charging handle. Can anyone recommend one? Not looking for anything big and flashy.
