Just Ordered Up an M&P 15-22
.22 ammo is loosening up, at least around my home town. Been shopping for the best .22 semi-auto rifle. Chose the M&P 15-22 with three extra 35 round magazines from Davidson's Gallery of Guns. Should have it in a couple of days. Happy Happy Happy

Congrats and you will enjoy it.
On a side note did you mean 3 extra 25 round magazines?

When I ordered the Davidson's Gun Genie thing suggested I buy extra mags - fine with me. The mags they were selling were 35 rounders. I checked S&W and they are out of theirs. So took Davidson's suggestions. LGS says it'll be here tomorrow!!

I must be missing something. I didn't know they made 35 round magazines. I know of 10 and 25 round mags only. Goes to research this...

The 35 round mags read like the ones made by Plinker Tactical. S&W only makes 10's and 25's.

The 32 rounders were made by promag. They looked very similar to the SW originals just larger capacity. Like Plinker Tactical Promag was sued for copyright infringement. Plinker tactical settled and now produces under a license. Not sure if Promag is making any new mags for the 15-22.

Aye, the Plinker Tactical ones. Figured if they pass Davidson's inspection they'll be okay for me. Bought them because they were the only kind available. We'll see how they work out at the range.

Thanks for the link Jeffro57. Went there and bought four 25 round mags (nice to have the S&W since they were out at the factory) a couple load assist thingies and a .22 bore snake.

Do you have a citation for this? Not doubting you, just curious as to what the settlement agreement was.
FWIW, based on previous experience I wouldn't have a PT magazine if they gave them away.

Case no.: CV-13-08075-PHX-SMM document #19 filed on 11/13/2013.
In case anyone doesn't know the case was in the Federal District Court for Arizona.

If you want a high capacity magazine, just go for the Blackdog 50 round drum. It is a little costly but danged if it ain't fun. Works perfectly too.

Thanks for the slickloader link. Got two of the Plinker Tactical push rods coming in. Here's a pic of the rifle.
No clue what the extra magpul ladder like thingies were for, no instructions...so put them on the rails. Can't hurt. Came in this afternoon but had to work late. Probably be the weekend before I can get to the local range while its still light out.

only one of those pushrods is needed for the plinker mags...my one plinker mag came with the pushrod(for the same price) and it seems that i am one of the lucky ones that has a working one.
i have the slickloader and it does work on the plinker mag with their load assist. the slick loader just makes loading quicker, even using the plinker assist.
hre is another option that also works with the slickloader, but not that big of a deal...i only have one because i needed to convert some 10rd long mags to 25rd mags and wanted the buttons. Raven Eye Custom - M&P15-22 Upgrades

Thanks. I get two of all tools...I lose them easily. Years of boozing, olde age itself, and now chemotherapy have destroyed a whole bunch of brain cells. Having two is just a way of living these days....

Back from my first trip to the range with the new toy. Set up a chest sized cardboard box target about 100 feet out. Ran 100 rounds of CCI .22 through it. Used the S&W mag that came with it for the first 25 and loaded 25 in each of the Plinker Tactical 35 round mags I bought with it. Only one glitch - a FTE on the first Plinker Tactical mag down about 20 rounds. No other hitches.
Hit 72 of 100 times using the standard flip up sights. Much of what I did was playing with rapid fire so knew I'd miss some. Sights were on for left/right but set low for the 100' range. So adjusted that.
Weirdest thing to me is the sound of the rifle works...the plastic sound really rings out as "different" But, most pleased...
.22 ammo may be less expensive but I can sure see spending just as much from wanting to "play" with the rifle....
