new M&P 15-22 models for 2014

It looks like Smith and Wesson have come out with some new variations of the M&P 15 (as well as some other new models) for 2014. It appears that there are three new finishes for the 15-22 including tan and black, purple platinum, and harvest moon orange.

Interesting, but not very appealing to me. Thanks for the link.

Pardee8 01-03-2014 10:33 PM

The tan and black is the coolest in my opinion.

imashooter2 01-03-2014 10:41 PM

To heck with the painted rifles... The 929 is going to be the tool to have for USPSA revolver.

UncaGrunny 01-03-2014 10:55 PM

I guess they had to do something since Duck Commander went to Mossberg for their new line of bang-toys.

RedNeck Jim 01-03-2014 11:18 PM

Is it just me, but I think it real ugly to have this fancy paint job... and then throw on black pistol grips, magazines & sights?

Agreed.Nothing personal to all that have multi colored guns, but FDE furniture on a black lower, barrel etc is still kind of hard for me to wrap my head around. But to each his own!

Meh, I will keep my MOE version.

030201_S&W 01-04-2014 01:01 AM

I'm OK, for now.

coltle6920 01-04-2014 04:19 AM

I think it is sacrilegious to use rainbow colors on a firearm.I don't care what age group they are catering to.

That is my opinion and I'm sticking to it....at least until they come out with colors like "Choo Choo Cherry" or "Goofey Grape". A man has to have his limitations.

BillyJack2012 01-04-2014 10:10 AM

Wow... Those are terrible.

Gopher Slayer 01-04-2014 10:24 AM

Firearms that look like toys.

Thanks S&W

Ugh... The result of too many "Call of Duty" kids wanting to play for real. The market drives the product.

roadkill45 01-04-2014 11:15 AM

the only call of duty i was addicted to for a long time was World at War the WWII version, couldn't get me off that PS3!!! and i'm an old man!, well not that old!

That's how mine is outfitted - CTR buttstock, Hogue grip, MagPul AFG2 and FDE rail ladders. Everything else is black. :)

I'll pass on all the funky colors and finishes except for maybe the RealTree version and even that's a stretch.

Makes me think of the saying, "there is no accounting for bad taste". :D

You ever hear, "black is beautiful"?

shawnr5 01-04-2014 04:23 PM

Not appealing at all.

Argonnakid 01-05-2014 12:50 PM

The purple is not that bad. But then, I did a purple, lilac, and grape paint job on my wife's 15-22.

It's not MAGPUL until you have the MOE 2 piece hand guards on there.

Pretty sure they market it as the MOE, that's what the advertising I saw said.:D

Product: Model M&P15-22 MOE Rifle - MagpulŪ Sights, Stock and Grip

I did see your conversion kit though, looks cool.

That is the only one I really like. I just hate when Smith always shows their revolvers from the right side so you can't see if it comes with the internal lock.

Even they know it's horrible or they would gladly show it. If it doesn't have a lock I will buy one.

That 929 is sexy as hell
