Aguila 22 LR OK to Use?
Anyone use Aguila Extra subsonic or Match in their 15-22s.? If so how did they run. I know its supposed to be a little dirtier and the manual says not to use subsonic but does it have enough power to recycle reliably. If not I will try the higher end stuff even if its more expensive.

My 15-22 will shoot anything. Aguila works just fine but has an odd smell. I wouldn't worry about what they say about subsonic, as that is pretty much all I shoot & I never have failures. Granted, I use the CMC trigger and its hammer strikes real hard.
Think about all the 15-22 owners, such as me, that shoot suppressed. All we use is subsonic ammo.

Works fine in my 15-22 in the factory magazines. WILL NOT feed through the Black Dog 50 rd. drum........Agree with the poster above.........Smells bad after you pull the trigger.

Agreed. My 15-22 is every bit as reliable as my 10/22, and I hold my 10/22 up as the gold standard.

I use the Aguila Super Extra standard velocity without any problems. It works in all my .22's. It does smell different, but it works great. That's all I care about.

If the smell and a little smoke don't bother you, go with it. It's not my first choice but...

Forgot about the smoke. It is noticeably smoky.
Now if they could make the smoke smell like Memphis BBQ, then I'd gladly shoot this stuff.

Haven't used the subsonic, but had no issues with there super velocity.
Some people say it smells like burning pineapple; to me it smells like plexiglass when you cut it.
Not a 'bad' smell IMO, but unusual.

I wasn't thinking straight before. No! Don't use that ammo in your M&P 15-22! Send it to me for proper disposal.

UncaGrunny, good call. That IS what it smells like! Cutting Plexiglass. However, I don't care what it smells like. It works like a top!

No problem at all using Aguila in my Performance Center 15-22, which I hear is supposedly even more picky about ammo than the base model. I haven't had a single hiccup with mine, though. In fact, I have a few bricks of Aguila Target Rifle and it's one of the most accurate rounds that I've tried through my 15-22. Off my benchrest gear, I'm pleasantly surprised at how accurate the little plastic wonder is. It's not challenging my custom Anschutz/Lilja and such rifles, but it's very good for what it's designed to do.
