Slide Fire in the UK
I've got the chance of a slide-fire stock and S&W PC trigger
Have done a bit of reading and it seems that bump firing is legal in the UK - can anyone confirm?
Thanks in advance for your help

Only one way to be sure.. contact your local FEO and get it from the horses mouth...from what I've heard they are 'technically' legal regarding the wording of the applicable laws but I can imagine what the 'greys' at my range would do if I were to suddenly go full auto on the crowd....nee naw nee naw...empty gun safe...orange bib and conjugal visits from the wife.
I'd read up on the PC trigger as well...seeing as you can drop in a Timney/Jewel/ or the Geissele...which I have seriously got my eye on
Oh the fun of full auto at a steel plate.....ding ding ding....hahahaha.

I have a slide fire on my 15-22. It works fairly well, however it does need the trio of the stock, a light trigger, and the reverse muzzle brake to be reliable.
The trigger that Slide Fire sells is a CMC trigger. It has a 3 1/2 pound pull. I have heard that finding the right trigger can be a problem, you need a light pull, but a strong firing pin strike. These are two things that may not come together with other aftermarket triggers.
Shooting it is a lot of fun! Make sure you bring lots of ammo.

I would think the only reliable information would be from a solicitor or barrister knowledgeable in firearms law, a letter from the regulating agency within the Home Office or something from the Constabulary to whom you apply for your licenses.
In the US, a manufacturer can get an approval letter from our ATF. SIG Sauer did this when it introduced the PSB or Pistol Stabilizing Brace for the AR pistols and similar.
Have you asked the manufacturer of the Slide Fire device if there is any such process with the authorities in Britain? If so, has the manufacturer submitted the device? If not, would they be willing to do so?
The problem here is that if you get it wrong, you will be hauled in and, as the song goes, "P.C. Thirty-One" will say "we caught a dirty one."*
*Apologies to Lennon, McCartney or both, as the case may be, for quoting the lyrics to "Maxwell's Silver Hammer."

Hi All
I saw the slide fire is available through MidwayUK quite a while ago. Not sure myself if I would:
A, Risk my ticket on a not sure
B, Spend £500 on it when rifle was £750.
They do look cool when fired and I really do miss Full Auto firing but I have to ask, where does common sense kick in? Lol
Maybe when I have completely exhausted all other upgrades!!!!!
Never say never but £500????????? Plus trigger. ......

True....
Although this one is s/h and a lot less than £500.
Will be talking to my FEO and if there's any doubt I'll pass on this one (although I will still pursue the PC trigger).
This madness will not end - have ordered some nice little bits from the US in the week so am looking forward to their arrival (brother in law lives in North Carolina)

Not going down that route yet..... although I would like to swap out the forend for something like a magpul moe handguard (although I haven't got into the logistics of this yet).
Have had a contract renewed so have allocated some cash to buy some more Gucci bits...
Got some bits coming from Phase 5 Tactical & Mission First Tactical - will post pics when I get them.
Am also getting itchy fingers towards the FDE ACOG.......

FEO wasn't sure so have (on his recommendation) emailed the regional FA unit with the details. Will await the result and keep you posted!

Update
Ok - so I got a reply from the FA unit.... Bump firing is not technically illegal here, however...... although the stock could be purchased, fitted and then used, they said that this attachment and effect would draw attention and concern possibly from other shooters and members of the public - these would have to be followed up etc etc....
Given that only one of my permissions is remote enough to realistically use said stock without being disturbed / heard vs cost of kit vs hassle I've decided to not go down this route.
I've decided to put what I would have spent on the stock towards either an Aimpoint or ACOG....
I did receive some initial bits yesterday from brother in law in NC...

I'm pretty disappointed with the colour of the MFT react mag grip - it is most definitely not FDE so it will be getting a Matt black plasticity ASAP! Having said that, the function is fantastic - stock shouldered, barrel down to barrel up is quick, smart and feels very positive and instinctive. I recommend it - just not the colour
Also popped in the parcel by brother in law was the PEQ15 laser aiming thingy... He'd bought one for himself previously and had been going on about how good it was. Bit of a toy, I thought, but I went out yesterday evening, zeroed it at around 20yds and then ventured in to one of the bigger barns on the farm... S&W 3 - Rats 0 - I never have a dull outing when I take this rifle out!

Typical faffy answer from a FLO trying to make up the law as they go - if it's Section 1, then it's Section 1 and would be up to the Home Sec to say otherwise.
However, still a very expensive way to blow through your stash of .22, and if some of the members at my indoor range had them, I could imagine needing a fair amount more Polyfilla'ing on the range baffles...!

Halfords do a good range of camo colours in rattle cans
they are usually on the specialised paint racks
check online for stock levels, as they do not carry many

IMHO.....for what its worth, you really should 'black tacticrayola' that S&W logo on your FDE mag. I did mine...white on one, orange on another and silver on yet another...look so cool.

Good call - it's a bit more fiddle than everything else but will give it a go. I did do the magpul engraving on the grip and that looks good so mags will def look cool too.
BTW, I have my own crayons......

Love the look of the build, it certainly is looking full on.
Not so sure of the Pink grip but Halfords camo paint should sort that nicely.
Really like the light / Laser unit havent seen those for sale in UK (real one not airsoft or chinese copy) definately something I would be interested in, might have to look into that and see, did I say before that I was almost done?????
maybe I just found next quest...
Keep at it it looks great.

slide Fire from slidefire.com
I ordered a slide fire 15-22 "Kit" from slide fire directly. It came with a slidefire stock that can also be used on an ar-15 .223/5.56. It came with a 3.5 lb. trigger assembly that I priced on the web for about $170; and a recoil enhancer that replaces your flash hider that helps the .22 cycle properly. The entire kit is $399.
It works perfectly.

Here is a link that also shows a bumpfire with Plinker Arms 35-round mags:

The Plinker 35-round mags are available in the US for less than $12--link:

I see Plinker Tactical changed names to distance itself from the abysmal reputation their magazines have. They are still basically unreliable and aren't even worth the $12.

Does anyone know of a UK importer of these yet?
My searches show up nothing so I'm guessing as with the majority of stuff in the US that they're keeping it all for themselves!

Are you talking about the plinker tactical mags?
A quick google search brought this....no black but FDE or Olive green. They also do the loading tool as well. i see 8 left in stock.
Plinker Tactical 35 round .22LR magazine S&W M&P 15-22 - RifleMags.co.uk
Hope this helps.

I have been looking for one for some time now. Found where one was, was given a price, then when I had the cash, it wasn't available anymore.
I pretty much looked everywhere else and no joy. I have land where I could use it but danged if I can find one for sale in UK.
Expensive add on this side the pond but then, what isn't for us???
Would be fun me thinks.......
Here starteth the next Arthurian quest...

As I said Ben, found one. Then when I had the money, no longer available. Didn't want to be a test case for court was what I was told.
Disappointed to say the least. That was last year before I got the 9mm. Haven't had chance to speak to him since to see I he still got. He knows I would have it, but he wouldn't sell even after telling me the price he wanted.

Being a finger-picking guitar player, who is a fan of Tommy Emmanuel. I reckon, given a barn door to aim at i could get my trigger to sound like a full auto.
