The part where I mentioned getting 22lr with little effort is on gunbroker. Almost at any time you can find some for around .11. I have purchased 2 cases of subsonic this year at that price. Not the cheapest of prices but it is easy & worry free. And still at that price much cheaper than shooting .223 and a LOT cheaper than the 300 blackout I order.

WOW just think what you could save.
I was just thinking If I sold all my semi auto's or even gave them to my kids. I could save enough for a nice elk hunt out west with my whole family in two years.
A bit longer if picked up a nice bull barrel .22 quality bolt action.
Practicing just breathing, stance and trigger control instead of bouncing 40 grains of lead off the pop cans. Not that doing the spray and pray when it was eighty five cents ox wasn't fun once in a while. But back then my 10-22 only held 10 rounds.
I think much of the ammo shortage is due to video games and the "training" people get there.
Great deal for those who are in need of a new pop .
I'll keep my Marlin 39 thank you.

Well I waited until Monday (Labor Day) to order. Placed the order early that morning and it processed the order. Still hasn't shipped but I expect they sold more than they anticipated. It went from "pending" to completed yesterday morning on my credit card. Excellent deal, worth waiting for !!

That's normal, PSA takes a long time to ship regardless of stock, good company but slow shipping.

Thanks Jim. The ammo hunt is on. If anyone is late to the party like I was, jump on this deal! It's the best price I've seen in over a year of shopping and waiting. I found it through SlickGuns.com

If you did order this for the more expensive price of $349 you can call in to Palmetto and have them cancel that order and replace it for the $299 IF it hasn't already shipped.

Got my tracking number today! Can't wait to try it out. This is my first firearm of any type other than a pistol. But I do enjoy my M&P 22.
And yes, it is listed again at $299 today.

No. I never ordered it. I literally had it in my cart, went through the check-out procedure on Tuesday, and just before clicking " complete order" I noticed the price went back up. I called and they were unwilling to honor the $299 price so I didn't order it. I explained that they were losing a sale, but the lady on the other end didn't seem to care. It looks like they came to their senses today and earned my business! I'm so excited. Now, I just need to get on that ammo and order my optics. There goes my money! I just got my AR where I wanted it...

I see the M&P15 Sport in 223 caliber is going for low $675 now while the M&P 15 in 22 cal is $500 and change. I believe that one will accept other Calibers. Had a cell phone typo.

.22 LR???
Except for a couple of models in .300 Whisper/ACC Blackout, all 15Sports are .223/5.56 only.
Are you referring to .223 as "22"?

Mine arrived today. Hopefully I can get to the range this week to try it out.
What's the best way to align sights? Is there a good tutorial somewhere? The range I can get to is indoor, so it's only about 25 yards.

You can bore sight this gun. Take the gun and separate the upper from the lower. balance the upper on your table and place your target at 25yds.
look through the barrel and note where your center is on target, then look at your sights and adjust till they match.
Next goto indoor range and fine tune!

They're back today as the Daily Deal for $299 and showing in stock as I type this.
I'm assuming they mean midnight, not noon?

Just as a note, this is the base model without the threaded barrel and flash hider/comp.

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't even look, as I'm not interested in another one. Just saw 15-22 and the $299, and figured I'd pass along the deal.

If you're on their website and do a search for 811033 it will pull up the threaded barrel version and it's still listed for $299.
I received mine today.

Picked my rifle up today! It's crazy feeling this weapon and seeing all the plastic. It feels like a toy but way more solid than the Mossberg 715t. Lucky for me I have extra accessories from my AR that are finding their way into my 15-22 with a quickness. It's nice having some cheaper initial buys that didn't fit my quality standard for my AR. They'll do just fine for the low-recoil (who we kidding? No recoil) rifle.

Don't let that bother you it's a 22 and blasting away for fun is what it is about, just shoot a fine fun firearm, U can add to it with time if U feel you have to have the complete look.

Well I finally made it to the range, it was a blast shooting this for the first time. I need to work on getting it sighted in. The indoor range goes to 25 yards, but I learned that I have no way to see that far and my eyes just aren't as good as I thought. I moved it up to 15 yards and had some fun. Tried to sight it in at 15 yards, but I just went with it and had some fun.
Do you guys us binoculars or something when you are shooting at 25 yards?

I have eyes that are just fine but I still prefer magnification for most of my shooting. I went with a fixed 4x scope that I'm really impressed with so far. It was cheap, too. I'll be posting a review once I get a chance to run it a little bit. I'm hoping to shoot my rifle for the first time this week.

I shoot out to 50 yards with it, but have a scope so I can see what I'm shooting. A good econimcal scope is a UTG Bugbuster. Works great and won't break the bank.

Not sure if you and others know about S&W's declining sales as the reason for the lower prices you're seeing.
Net sales for the first quarter were $131.9 million, a decrease of $39.2 million from the first quarter last year, primarily due to lower sales of long guns, especially their AR series, which drove 87% of the first quarter decline.
The AR market is currently saturated by a vast increase in the number of AR offerings by both new and existing companies coupled with lower demands after the fear of a new ban subsided.
They've also had their increase in small concealed carry polymer pistols and revolvers offset by a drop in their full-size models.
Next quarter is not looking better, either. S&W was expected to do $137 million in sales, but current predictions will not exceed $110 million.
Bottom line: look for more sales on S&W "sporting rifles." I saw the M-15 Sport selling for $529 and $539 on Gun-Deals about a month ago. Right now they are averaging about $30 lower than the $599 sales.
I expect that the 15-22 will stay low as well.
IMHO, I think they screwed up by marketing the Bodyguard along with the Shield because they are too similar.
Speaking about the Shield, there's a major recall on all Shield's made before Aug 19. Trouble with the trigger bar pin (which looks a lot like the one on the SD VE series).

Just so there is NO Confusion. This was a Safety Alert on the Shield. Its was never a recall and it was last year Aug 2013. Not all Shields were involved in this Safety alert. Mine was not.

Thanks for the clarification. The term, "recall," appeared in the article I read, so I'll pass along a need for them to update it.
I was looking to buy a Shield, but had a problem with it similar to my problems with Glocks. The low bore axis/low-riding slide does not leave enough room for my support hand's thumb and fingers to clear the slide.
Like with the Glock 19 I tested (and the G17 before that), I got sliced and diced by it. Unlike the G19, however, I did not get slide-bite shooting it off-hand. The muzzle-flip caused the back of the slide to come down on the back of my hand.
The wonderful Glock is the only gun that leaves me bloodied no matter how I hold it.

I think it was gone before that. I ordered some .22lr from them on December 24th and have yet to even get a shipment notice. I ordered a rather large bulk order Dec 31 from another vender and it already has a shipment label printed and it waiting to be picked up.

Palmetto State Shipping is slooooow
If there is one thing Palmetto State Armory shipping is, it isn't fast. They have to have the slowest order fulfillment department in all the internet for a shop that doesn't custom make stuff. But, I have scored so many deals from them for 20-50% below anyone else's price I figure the wait is what your paying for.
