10" barrel, will it cycle cci quite?

Just wondering if a 10" barrel w/ or without a can, will cycle using CCI quite?
I found a source for cases for 5000 for $390
Up here mini mag is 13 cents and most bulk is 8-10 cents now.

L A i still can't see how you can legally own a 15-22 there

in Canada with a 10" chopped down 16" barrel

I assume you mean CCI Quiet ammo. Probably your best answer comes from the CCI website, which says they can be used in semiautos, but they may require manual cycling of the action. Not having your gun in hand, I think I'd have to conclude -- maybe, maybe not.

The real question is, Where are you finding 5000 rounds for $390?? Kyle

I have an 11" barrel but have never shot CCI Quiet. I shoot suppressed and see no reason to try the Quiet, as my normal subsonic ammo is very quiet thru the Sparrow.

Seems to me, since Quiet wont cycle properly thru a 16" barrel that it would only act worse in a shorter barrel. That is the reason I got rid of my 4.5" barrel because it wouldn't cycle my subsonic ammos properly. Going to 11" solved my issues.

Unless you want to turn your 15-22 into a single shot I'd scratch that idea.

In any event, I'd suggest a box of 50 for starters rather than a case of 5,000.

Sorry guys that was rude of me, thanks for your help!

Reliable gun in BC has lots of ammo.
As for the 15-22. Up here as long as you have a barrel made and not cut yourself, you can have any length rimfire barrel over 4.5" However the minimum length must be 26" to be non-restricted.
Again the 15-22 is restricted to begin with so its like owning a pistol.
Thus I think its 23" colappsed

No because the shorter the barrel. The slower the bullet will actually travel. Most ammo is stated with FPS on the box. And this is in rekation to coming from a 16" standard barrel. That ammo is only 720fps out of a standard 16" barrel and in most cases it does not cycle the semi auto. Making a shorter barrel surely isnt going to help it at all.

PS: I have an older Model 190 semi auto. For some stupid reasons, its the only semi auto ive ever seen that cycles CCI quiet. Probably because its old and wore out. But it wrks without issue.

So has anyone put a weak spring in a 15-22 to cycle Quiets ? I am talking about the blue spring. I could be way off in my thinking. BiggB

Been suggested time and time again. Problem is that weakening the spring doesn't work. While the fired round might eject, the action will not cycle the next round into the chamber. The weight of the bolt would have to be reduced, as well.

Yes, tried about a dozen different combos, to get th e spring rate and initial preload light enough to cycle it wont chamber the next round reliably. It is close but I gave up after a lot of trials. I have made my 10/22 cycle them pretty reliably, but no luck on tbe 15-22. Search this area for a thread I started if you are interested in the math.

Just get urself a suppressor for the 15-22. Run standard velocity or subs through it and it'll be real quiet. My air soft gun is louder than mine running subs. Best money i ever spent on the cheap plinker.

PS: CCI makes CCI Suppressor ammo. They are rated at 950fps. And these things are awesome to throw down range. Super quiet when ran through the suppressor.
