Default Tactical Gloves?

A little of topic i know, sorry mods...but i want to hear the opinions of 15-22 owners specifically in regards to tactical gloves.

My pair of beloved Hatch operator gloves have finally, after 5 years of daily use, cycling, work, shooting have finally started to give way beyond needle and thread repair. With the UK winter rapidly approaching, replacements are in the pipeline....do i go with another pair of the wonderful but expensive Hatch or do you guys have different options?

I would like to hear your opinions of gloves that you prefer....(note that i don't use a glove on my trigger hand but like to have my other hand gloved)

If you are not a glove user then fine, please don't comment that you don't use them...i solely would like the opinions of those who do, what they use and the reasons why.

Don't know if you have them there but here we have mechanic gloves. I cannot speak for daily use but they are ment to be mechanic gloves so I assume they hold up. They are thin, have a grippy surface, different sizes and thickness

For years I used golfing gloves on my hands but the last few years I have used baseball batting gloves. They hold up better ( I could only get a year or so out of the golfing gloves) and are still comfortable.

I have never tried the "professional" tactical gloves.

I use the gloves I wore when I rode sport bikes. Velcro cuffs, carbon fiber knuckle protection, dual layer goatskin leather palms lined with kevlar, padding on the back of the hand, etc.

I use thin, unlined leather gloves. Even for hunting.

I like and use the mechanix gloves as well. They range from $15 US (the really thin ones) up to $30 or more (thicker, more padding, knuckle pads, and Velcro tops).

While I've liked mechanics gloves and gear from back their original military line with no markings or logos in the late 90's I've ended up using quite a few different brands since then. Recently I've used a set of Oakley tactical gloves that have been really nice, my only complaint is that other than the hard armor plate, they don't offer much in the way of padding on the back of your hands. Also while the thin palm material is great in the fingers it's not so great in the palm and heel area if you have to put your hand down to catch yourself on hard surfaces.

Take a look at paintball gloves. The best gloves that I've ever used were a pair of Empire brand paintball gloves. While Empire is known for flashy speedball gear and not really subdued milsim gear I happened to find a set of fairly subdued black gloves that are about perfect. Sadly they were on close out when I bought them 8 or 9 years ago. The palms are padded and reinforced with Kevlar in all the right places with good protection on the back of the hand without reducing dexterity and the trigger fingers are cut and sewn specifically for additional feel with thin soft leather. Think top of the line Mechanics Impact series for protection with shooting specific trigger fingers. The desire for speedball players to have incredibly fast shooting and trigger control pays off for normal shooting as well. Since most of the time they use double triggers for more speed both the index and middle fingers are done this way but it's not too weird feeling. There are also quite a few fingerless or two finger gloves for those that want palm protection. It is always hit or miss if the latest season's gear is subdued or not but there are some recent year models that should still be available.

I use Under Armor batting gloves. They have the right balance of durability, protection and tactile feels grip. They're a few dollars more than Mechanix but I've found they last about as long and you don't get snagged between trigger and trigger guard.

Thanks for all the suggestions, i have looked at numerous Golf/Baseball/MTB and 'Tactical' gloves and have decided that i am going to try a pair of the Mechanix M-pact 3, the new 2015 version.
The golf gloves looked a little under protected and flimsy, believe it or not Baseball gloves are really hard to find in the UK although they do look good. The MTB gloves are all a little too 'jazzy' and from the range of Tactical gloves on offer i chose between the 'Hatch' i already own, the 'Oakley tactical' and the Mechanix.
The Mechanix intrigue me so they get my vote.
