Slidefire without the recoil enhancer
I found a local M&P15-22 at Field and Stream for $249. My thoughts were to get this and the slidefire for a little more than MSRP. Being 2,000 miles from California, I didn't even think about it being a CA Compliant version. I checked the rifle out quickly and took it home. I've already converted the 10 round mag, but now I have a rifle without the threaded barrel. Has anyone used the SF without the recoil enhancer? If I use something like Tacticool's threaded barrel adapter, will the recoil enhancer still work or is it just for looks?
Is there any other differences in the rifle other than the 10 round mag and threaded barrel?

I've run my 15-22 and slide fire without the recoil enhancer. No issues:
slidefire on 15-22

Just an update. I like the looks and features of the gen 3 mod stock, but Slidefire doesn't offer the "bundle" for the new mod stock and the 15-22. I didn't want to spend $300 on a novelty item for 1 gun, so I emailed them to see if it was compatible with the 15-22. I never received a response. I found a good sale on the stock, so decided to try it. I already had a lighter trigger on my AR-15, so I put it on that gun to try out before I purchased another trigger for my 15-22. The stock works great on a .223 AR. I finally was able to order another trigger for my 15-22 and tried the setup out today. The recoil on the 15-22 is no where near enough. Out of 2 mags, I was able to get 3 "double taps" out of it. Any pressure high enough to push the stock forward is greater than the recoil on the gun. I'm not sure how well the mod stock slides versus the sbs stock, so I can't say where the exact problem would be. Too many variables to determine. I am using a CMC 3.5lb trigger in the 15-22.
With that, the slidefire mod is great on the AR15. The feel of the stock and the hand grip is much better than the standard ones that come on most ARs. I'll keep it on my AR15 as my normal setup. With the full system, the weight is a factor, but not in my case. I'd much rather have it on my 15-22 as the cost of ammo between the 2 will limit it's use. 5 cents versus 20 cents per round is a big deal when wasting multiple rounds in a "auto fire" setup. I haven't priced out separate stocks and grips, but at the $220 I paid, I don't feel like I threw money out the window and I get to have fun bump shooting every once in a while.

I would venture to say its your Technique..
Assuming the GenII stock slides freely.. and is compatible, then with the CMC trigger it should work fine
Very light forward pressure is all thats needed.. Try holding at the Magazine.. easiest way to get accustomed to it... then you can try at the barrel area once you get full mag dumps
Keep trying... it should work

While I don't disagree, it shouldn't take 5 magazines to figure out. After my initial tests, I loaded the mags with 40 grain instead of my normal 36 grain and still no luck. I had a burst of 4 shots once. I'll keep trying, but the novelty is wearing off.

Literally just use 1 finger to put forward pressure... dosent take much...
Technique is the hardest on the 15-22... the AR15.. a ababy could do it
and if yer 15-22 is loaded with Lights or other Items... remove those.. Lighter is better...
Be patient.... and very very light pressure

The only thing on it currently is a 1X4 scope. I took the iron sights off. The scope isn't zero'd in, so I can take it off to see if it helps with technique.

I bought the kit when it was cheap earlier this year. Mine ran ok with the stock flash hider with a 2-7 Nikon p22 scope mounted in a Burris pepr mount. With the cmc 3.5 lb trigger. Haven't tried it with the trs 25 but I'm sure it would work even better especially now with a lighter rail from tacticool

I run mine with the cmc trigger and no recoil enhancer and it worked excellent shooting cci mini mags. Technique is tough, very light forward push and trigger finger rigid, ya gotta let it bounce. Others with me struggled with it, they kept trying to pull the trigger. Keep tryin, you'll get it.

Hi Tfreeman
I hope you get it sorted and working how you hope it should.
IF it doesn't work out, I'll take it off your hands for cost plus shipping :-)
