15-22's in UK may soon be for sale cheap
Wonder if our UK friends will be able to send them to the states to recoup some of their money? Looks like any firearm ownership in the EU is going down the tube. I feel for them, thank God we have the second amendment and no EU.
Here is a quote from the article posted below:
"And the legislation will outlaw a range of weapons, including a ban on all semi-automatic firearms which look like military weapons. This would amount to a constructive ban on the vast majority of semi-automatic rifles on the Continent, as well as affecting Britain’s .22 semi-automatic market and taking semi-automatic pistols out of circulation."

There has been a huge online petition across europe, which i have posted on this website a couple of months ago. Quite a lot of MEP's from various countries are against this measure and the wording of the directive has been put under scrutiny.
The likelihood of this passing eventually though is quite high, but for now nothing has changed. Any banning of such firearms would require a 'buy back/comp' scheme which would allow us to recover some of the money we have put into our 15-22's. However all legislation through Europe would take an age to pass and an age to implement...they do like to talk.
But as i said before...this is ridiculous.
In essence it boils down to the fact that someone with a 10/22 tricked out in an AR stock with a 25rd bx mag, would lose their rifle, while the guy in the booth next to him with a 10/22 with boyds wooden stock the same 25 rd mag would be okay to continue....it is beyond stupid.
I am going to cover my 15-22 in sesame street stickers if push comes to shove

GhostMutt, I'm totally into sesame street, I think it would be a great look !!!
Especially if it made your evil 15/22 "Totally Legal Dude".
All the best way over there.

Sadly, in a few years the Brits will most likely be begging us to send them firearms to fight the unruly immigrants, much like they begged us during WW2!

Is that a historical term ?
I must say I have not laughed so much in ages, until I read the comment.
Rob.

The missed point here of course is that it isn't the Government that are looking to do it. It's the EU that are having a knee Jerk to their own problem. Almost ALL of the Proposed changes are already the hoops us Brits have to jump through to even get a firearm.
The only Real threat to UK at the moment is the "semi auto" lookie likie bit that could be a problem.
Though with good sense and the upcoming Refurendum, UK should be free of EU meddlers before it is even agreed as a policy.

Get out of the EU.
Raise a fuss.
We are doing that here in Canada. The AR15 is classified as restricted.
We are signing a petition to reclassify it.
