Default Std vs PC accuracy?

These guns have been out a long time. I know there are members with both.

How do they compare?

Is the PC version any more accurate?

I have two of the "std" 16" threaded barrel version. They are both definitely 3 moa guns, when shot off bags with optics and "match" ammo. This is with free floating forends and tight barrel nuts.

How do the PC guns do?

Having both, my PC will out group my other two when I feed it it's favorite ammo. (SK and RWS match) I have shot 1/4 inch group at 50 yards on an indoor range. (When I really do my part ) This is bagged up and using a 2-7x optic.

My PC was really finicky after you shoot it awhile with bulk ammo due to the tight chamber. It did improve when I put in the Volquartsen extractor. The other two would gobble it up and beg for more.

Long story short and in my opinion, when fed it's favorite ammo, its more accurate.

50 YARD indoor range?

What size groups do you get from your "other two" when bagged with optics and fed SK and RWS match?

my oldest one does about 1 1/2 - 2 inches with RWS, never shot SK+ thru it. But it also does about 1 1/2 - 2 inches with CCI standard velocity and Minimags as well. That's using a 2-7x P22 Nikon bagged. It has never grouped better then that.

My MOE one only has a 1x vortex spitfire on it and it is used for drills and mostly gets a diet of any cheap bulk I can find. Never shot "real" groups with it.

I find that my PC groups great with the ammo it likes. Also need to clarify, the 1/4 inch group was the best I ever did with it. 1/2 inch with RWS and SK+ is what I usually get. I get about 1 - 1 1/2 inches with CCI Standard Velocity and bout 2 inches with other non-bulk ammo. Mine seems to group better with standard velocity ammo.

Forgot to mention that I replaced the OEM trigger with a CMC 3lb flat blade trigger. Really like it, works very well, has very reliable ignition and deep primer hits.

And yes, 50 yard indoor range. In a couple months, an indoor range about 20mins away will open and it has 8 100 yard points!! Can't want to try it. Think it's call Reload Guns or something like that.

Thanks for the clarification. My "std" models consistently get ~1 1/2" 50 yd groups with CCI Std Velocity or Norma Tac-22 or CCI Tactical. ~3 moa. I've never shot any of the high dollar stuff thru it.

A guy I shot with would shoot 10 shots, then take the 3 shots closest together as his "group size". Gotta be careful... The real standard is what your gun will shoot any time you set it on the bench. "Best group I ever shot with it" does make for better bragging rights but is pretty meaningless.

As long as these guns have been out, one thing I've never really seen mentioned is any better accuracy from the PC versions.

Thanks.
