Default Light strikes

So... I bought my 15-22 and love it. I added jp yellow springs thought I would go ahead and throw a Timney in there and it was working great but now I'm getting light strikes. Took out the Timney back to the JP springs and still light(using same federal ammo). What trigger would you guys recommend?

The cmc 3.5lb version seems to work pretty well in these rifles. It is a drop in modular unit. This is the trigger that comes with a slidefire stock kit as it is the most reliable in that application. I have one that came with the kit. The trigger is pretty nice but the novelty of shooting fast without much accuracy wears off fast.

I remember reading about someone having a similar problem and the solution was taking out the firing pin to clean it and the channel it runs through. Also you can order the next heavier set of springs that JP offers.

If i remember correctly, there are a few people here who run a Timney, they may chime in with advice, regarding what hammer/trigger spring they use.

I would take it back to factory trigger, then confirm it works then change it bit by bit, trigger, then different springs to try and work out where the weak link is.

That being said, the recommendation of the CMC trigger is a good one, lots of people have them and you seldom hear a bad word.
I have a 24C in mine and love it.

Don't give up on the Timney until you have tried all the variables.

Try putting the stock hammer spring back in.
It worked for me.

Sorry just seen this thread. But changing the firing pin spring is easy and will solve all your light strikes issues. As I stated in my post I did all I could to test the setup. I love it now. After about 2500 round at different ammo 1 Failure to Fire, but it was ammo related Federal AM.

With change firing pin spring, Velocity trigger and the upgraded extractor my 15-22 is about best weapon I have ever owned. Man some Just needs to make an upgraded firing pin.

Super simple cheap fix for 3lb timney trigger.
Belt-Fed Hell: S&W M&P 15-22 Firing Pin Spring Swap for the Timney 3lb Trigger
I did this and it fixed 99% of all my issues. If I gave issues now, its tge bulk anmos fault unless its really dirty.
Would have helped sooner but I was banned!

The spring was 60 cents Canadian!!!
Remember to cut the end coil off so it can fit inside the firepin hole.
Just like the comments say on the post!
