My local outdoor range requires a brass catcher for centerfire semis, but not rimfire. I think they will probably make an exception in my case...

Well I have had the extractor for a little while now and I am very happy with it. It solved my issue of hot brass hitting my coupled mag and then hitting me. It works as claimed and does such a good job that I had just about forgotten I even installed it.

Then I saw this thread I started some time ago. Glad to see it got popular. I figured I would add my finale review on the product. If all items worked this well we wouldn't even have a returns counter.

I replaced the stock extractor with a Volquartsen and I find it works better than the stock. A more positive extraction always helps when dealing with the wide variety of .22LR out there.

Got a PM, someone wanted to make sure my mags were coupled correctly. They are... LOL

I use salem 6 mags and they are short so getting two couplers on the mags and staggering them is a challenge. I actually had to make notches in the mags so they would sit better on the couplers. Otherwise the mags kept sliding out the bottom.

With the stock extractor I was getting a few week ejections and the hot brass would occasionally bounce off a mag and land on my neck, arm etc.

Problems fixed now. Hey Volquartsen any chance I can get something for starting this thread and selling at least a half dozen of those things? Well even if not I was already given a quality product at a fair price.

I was having a few problems with mine not many but still quite annoying. Since I installed the volsquarten extractor no problems at all. I think it's a great upgrade. a lot of people have no problems with the original. But if your one of them with fte s jams stovepipes. I would strongly recommend one. I'm well pleased

I was having stovepipe issues with my brand new, (and yes it was thoroughly cleaned before ever being fired) M&P 15-22, and after 2 trips to the range, cleaning it after each session, I had seen enough.

I ordered the Volquartsen extractor and installed it this weekend. I figured for 14 bucks I had nothing to lose.

Just to get an idea of how well it would do, I went through a box of 325 rounds of Federal Automatch Target ammo.

Not one stovepipe out of the entire 325 round box, whereas before I was seeing a stovepipe after every 30-40 rounds or so with this same ammunition and the stock extractor, and worse with the Remington Gold.

So far, I'm quite happy with the Volquartsen extractor.
