Default Need an ejector

Okay guys I need some serious help, I have a marine sniper buddy who has a 15-22 and wanted me to thread his barrel. I don't usually do work for others since I have enough of my own stuff going on to stay pretty busy but I decided I'd help him out. Upon re installation the ejector broke (I dropped the barrel on it) and I need to buy one asap. I called S&W and they don't have any. Please help !!

Your only solution is to send the gun back to S&W for warranty repair.

The ejector is attached to the barrel so how did you drop the barrel on it? If you by chance mean the extractor, which is attached to the bolt group, then there is a replacement.

If you dropped the barrel and it landed on the ejector and snapped it off then all you have left is a rifled tube, which is rendered useless as a 15-22 firearm barrel. As far as I can see the ejector is not a separate piece and cannot be replaced.

Like Jim said if you mean the extractor, easy fix...ejector, then back to Springfield. My condolences go out to you and your friend.

Hey Jim you got yours yet? How is it? any different?

Check the classified sticky of this forum. A member is selling threaded barrel along with the ejector.

Actually the ejector is replaceable, but S&W will not sell you the part. They won't even send one to certified S&W armorer. (factory replacement only) The barrel collar (where the feed ramp is) is pinned on the barrel. The collar holds the ejector in place.

So the barrel is actually a 5 piece assembly; barrel, collar, ejector and 2 pins.

I can't believe that somebody hasn't made replacements for these yet.

Cool, guess things have changed. (which is a good thing) Maybe their getting a little more relaxed with parts availability. Hopefully you will never need to replace it.

Ejector - Part attached to the barrel, which functions to eject the casings out of the rifle. Hard to get hold of unless you have contacts or chat with the 'right' guy at S&W.

Extractor - Part attached to the bolt which 'grabs' the casing and holds it in place as the bolt recoils from the shot and forces casing against the ejector. Easily replaced now that VQ have made an after-market part, just hope you don't lose your ejector spring or plunger, then you are gonna have to hope to get that 'right guy' at S&W

Here endeth the lesson

Not yet;-)
Barrels to be seen
The breech block is metal injection molded, so that will be a chore to CNC machine one out of solid.
