I know this questions has been posted before, but can't seem to locate it. I know this rifle is somewhat finicky and have viewed videos on YouTube and also online, even the manual for that came with the rifle.

Many of the suggested brands are never in stock anymore, which is making this an even bigger problem. I am really struggling to find any 22 LR ammo of any brand locally and even the online stores have none in stock.

I have the standard 25 mags from S&W, a couple of Plinker Tactical 35 rd. mags, and the Black Dog 50 rd. drum.

Any suggestions of good, reliable ammo wil be appreciated. I do know about the CCI products, but other than that, have no idea what brands are best in this rifle. (Maybe I should have gone with the .223/5.56 AR)

Knightheart... you have posted int the M&P 15 section, not the one for the 15-22...

But, I have found that my son's 15-22 will shoot just about anything. I get whatever is on sale. Even Remington Golden Bullets have worked well in his rifle.

Appears to me that you have just answered your own question about where all the .22LR ammo has gone. When you buy 50 rd. drum mags before finding any ammunition it appears that you plan on using a large amount in a short period of time.

In your case the best ammunition for your 15-22 is anything you can find, and yes, you should have bought a .223 AR. When you pay $0.35 or more per cartridge you think twice before dumping 30 rounds into the backstop just to make noise.
