ejector adjustment questions
Is the ejector and the hook on the bolt that pulls the casing back suppose to be in line with each other (same center line up and down)? Im still having a fair amount of fte but not all the time. About only ammo ive had no issues with is cci tactical 22. It looks like my ejector is a little lower than the hook on the bolt that pulls the casing backwards. Ive watched the video about how to do it but can't tell which way it needs to move. Im thinking as the casing comes back its sliding over the ejector sometimes. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

No , the ejector is pinned to the barrel along the bottom, the part you are talking about in the extractor and you can replace it with a Volquartsen extractor and should take care of your trouble

No im talking about the long thin thing pinned to the barrel. It looks like it is lower than the extractor. Looks like it needs to sit higher in the bolt at the top of the slot.

The "extractor" is the claw on the bolt that holds the shell as it is stripped off the magazine and guided into the chamber. Since the 15-22 is blowback operated, it's not so much an extractor in the classic sense, but that's what we call it. The ejector is the long thin piece that is pinned to the barrel. This one is the critical component to proper ejection. Make sure it does not move. The ejector should be rock-solid. If you can wiggle it, even a little, that is probably the source of your FTE. If the ejector feels solid, but has taken a sharp blow, it could also be bent out of alignment with the rim of the shell as it comes out of the chamber.
Either way, if the shell rim misses the ejector or hits it at the wrong angle, the empty shell can bounce around inside the chamber and cause a stoppage instead of being ejected properly. You can either send it back to S&W or purchase the tools to fix it yourself, depending on your level of comfort with working on your rifle.

Ok what im asking is the extractor and ejector suppoae to be on the same tangent point on the bolt. In the middle of bolt so to speak. When my mag is inserted the first round in the mag is touching bottom of ejector.

It's not really a relevant question. The orientation of the extractor has no bearing on whether the ejector is in the correct position to properly flip a spent casing out of the ejection port. I recommend you contact S&W customer support and get a return label generated.

You don't understand what im asking. Is the hook on the ejector suppose to be in the centerline of the spent casing when it comes back to eject? I think the ejector is a little low and the casing may be missing it sometimes.

I understand exactly what you're asking, I have had the exact same issues you are reporting.
I recommend you send your rifle in for warranty service if this is the first time you have experienced this problem.

I think I fixed it. I bent the ejector upward about 1/32" or so. The ejector is now almost touching in the slot at the top of the bolt. Fired 4 mags of aguila super extra hi velocity total 100 rounds without an fte. Maybe it fixed it.

some people have had to tweak the ejector a little to fix that problem, just not to much or you will break it , you can find the part number in prior threads to order a extra ejector if you call S&W and have the part number and get the right person, or they want you to send it in to be replaced , I got 2 extra for mine a month ago
but then you also need the socket /tool kit to get the barrel nut off to do it yourself

As near as I can tell the ejector should be "high" enough to almost touch its' recess (slot) in the bottom of the bolt and the tip of the ejector "hook" should just barely touch the bolts' center "rib".
Take the upper off the lower and you can easily see this to check it.

The ejector should just touch the bottom of the bolt, mine has light wear marks and has been 100% reliable since new if I keep the gun clean. My wife's gun had all sorts of problems when new. She shoots left handed and the hot brass, when ejected, would just fall out of the rifle and land on her arm causing burns.
I found that the ejector on hers was too low so I bent it up to match mine. It's been great ever since then.

Yesterday I was able to fire 50 rounds of federal automatch and 25 rounds of remington golden bullets without any issues. Previously I had major issues with both of those before I adjusted the ejector.
