Default Replace Factory Sights....

for reasonable cost. Sold my Ruger SR-556e piston rifle today and threw in my factory sights off my MP 22 to close the deal. I have a new and unused Vortex Strikefire for this rifle but I have been reading that a few folks have difficulty sighting this optic in. This is going to be used for a little fun at the range only. I can use the Vortex on my AR 223 if need be. If I do decide to add conventional sights I do not want to shell out $90 for the Magpul MBUS that are very popular. Is there a less expensive set of conventional sights that would be an acceptable alternative that is good enough for the casual shooter without going the Magpul route?

So you are concerned that you may not be able to zero this sight on your 15-22? I guess if it were me I would try it on that rifle first before I mounted it on a .223. If you can't get it sighted in with the .22 why would you want to waste money on .223 ammo to try it there? Obviously most cf rifles will be more accurate so you will think that the sight works better on that rifle. 15-22 is the perfect platform for an rds for plinking

I also own a 15-22 with a Vortex Strikefire. I found it very easy to sight in using the bore sighting method with the lower receiver removed then made fine adjustments afterwards.
