Default Mag Dumps with the 15-22

So it has been a while since I took the 15-22 out for a spin. I loaded up 12 mags, S&W 25rnders.

Mag dumped all 12 without a single glitch. Gun ran like butter.

Here's a short video of a few ammo dumps.

I love this rifle

Not full auto. But the firing rate is the same as full auto

Slide fire, 3.5# trigger, reverse muzzle break, everything lubed including the buffer tube. CCI AR Tactical Ammo.

Next up, Black Dog Drums.

Orgone1,

Is your trigger a Geissele or ...?

Thanks

P.S. I have Geisseles in 2 of my AR15's 5.56 cal. I'm thinking of putting an ALG on my new 15-22.

Probably a CMC, them and the slidefire go very well together so i hear.
I have a Hiperfire 24C in my 15-22 and wow.....just wow Upgrading the trigger was the best thing i have done to my 15-22

Orgone1, that looks like a little bit too much fun......jealous as the slidefire, like many things are not allowed this side of the pond

GhostMutt,

Just read up on the Hiperfire 24C, sounds awesome. Presumably, any AR15 type design rifle will work with this trigger, such as the 15-22 though the specs I read only mentions 5.56 not .22 cal.?

Have you any experience with other triggers to compare to the 24C?

I have not had personal experience with other triggers and it was a close call between the 24C and the Geisseles. I wanted a single stage and that clinched the deal for me, plus the 2lb trigger pull.

Yes any AR trigger will fit in the 15-22, some are better than others...the Geissele, the CMC and Timney are good choices, depending on what you are after.
Regarding the 24C, it was easy to install and although the pins are a little shorter (what with the 15-22 being slightly wider than an AR) but i have had it for a while now and the have not walked anywhere and show no signs of doing so.

I read and watched a lot of reviews before opting for the 24C and personally i think i made the right choice.

That's what I thought until I read the description of the video.

Very cool video. Looks like a ton of fun.

Slide fire stocks are legal in the UK! I know of an RFD who has one but said that the novelty soon wears off. The main trouble we have is A/ Getting one for under £400 B/Finding a range that will let you use it.

The Firearms Act 1968, Section 5 (Prohibited Firearms) reads;

Weapons subject to general prohibition.

(1)A person commits an offence if, without the authority of the Defence Council [F1or the Scottish Ministers (by virtue of provision made under section 63 of the Scotland Act 1998)], he has in his possession, or purchases or acquires, or manufactures, sells or transfers—

[F2(a)any firearm which is so designed or adapted that two or more missiles can be successively discharged without repeated pressure on the trigger;

As the sliding fire stock works by repeated pressure on the trigger, albeit very quick repeated pressure, it isn't prohibited by the Act.

.22LR is about the only caliber civilian full auto has any role, and that's simply because it is fun and affordable. Novelty wears off quick when you're shooting full auto center fire rifle out of your shoulder. (Well in my very limited experience anyway).

Belt fed off a bipod is a different story

Still want a 3.5# trigger. Missed out on one by minutes. I could buy new I suppose but they cost the same as a whole other rifle!

Damn our poor exchange rate

You cannot use one at any range I shoot at either. It does look like fun, but I agree with the others who feel it would lose it's appeal after a short while.
That said tho.. When the Zombies come down the street one Black Dog Drum dump would sure clear the area!!!

Hey guys the trigger is the 3.5# that slide fire used in its special 15-22 version. It included a reverse muzzle break.

I get 100% mag dumps with S&W AR TACTICAL .22 ammo. With CCI mini mags I get 95% flawless dumps with a few FTF.

I enjoy the novelty of rapid fire. It is not something I do all the time but it is a distraction from my typical target shooting.

My indoor range allows FA and I shoot outside on private land.
