Hi all Andy from Northern Ireland , what do people think of the exact edge extractor from volquartsen

It is an excellent product and improves the reliability of the weapon.

From what I have heard, it gets good reviews. I was waiting on getting ready for one from a dealer this side of the pond. As with everything firearm related, that proves to be a mission, a long and often pointless mission. I am just waiting to save some money for magazines then I get one from Brownells. I doubt it is revolutionarily different from the factory one, but the tolerances have been made a bit more exact and from the reviews on this forum it is worth having, only if for having a spare part.

I was hoping that Rimfire Magic was going to eventually get in touch regarding taking shipment of the extractor but it looks like Roger has had a turn for the worse and it is slowing down his operation or is struggling cutting the red tape of bureaucracy.

It looks like Suffolk Rifle Co has stopped trading altogether.

I have just returned back from South Africa, where i got to shoot a .22lr revolver, a Browning 9mm, a Mossberg 12 gauge pump action shotgun, a Winchester .270 bolt action hunting rifle, a .357 Smith and Wesson Snubnose revolver and a Ruger Blackhawk 44 magnum. The best of all though was the Truvelo .50 cal BMG sniper rifle.

Big fan of the Volquartsen extractor. I was having problems with the stock extractor. Entirely cured by replacing it.

As above for me. If your having problems with the factory one it's excellent. If there's No problems stick with the factory one

Just switched out the extractor in the 2 that I have. Haven't fired them yet.

How do you know if your ejection issues are caused by the extractor or ejector (I believe that's the term for the long, thin piece of metal attached to the barrel.

The Volquartsen extractor works because it has more of a "J" hook than the stock extractor. If you can'y get one you could modify yours like I did. I used a Dremel and took just a little meat out of the corner so that the tip of the hook is the only thing grabbing the 22 rim.
