Default Hanguard swap

Ok so i have had my 15-22 for a few years now. Havnt done anything to it but put on a BAD lever (NDZ) and swap out the buttstock. Problem is i just bought a new LWRC DI and now i am spoiled with a nice handguard. I have decided to take the plunge and swap that out on the 15-22. I have ordered the conversion from the great tacticool22. Now i just need to decide on a handguard. I have narrowed it down (for now) on the Seekins MCSR , Seekins NOXs and the samson evo. Any opinoins on either or maybe even another handguard to consider? Also i would like to know if there is any problems fitting any of these to the 15-22.
Any input, opinions, comments or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Imo, anything you buy will need abit of modding to get it flush. Just a heads up.

I concur. You're going to have to modify your receiver in order to get any hand guard to fit flush.Break out the Dremel. I actually used a razor blade on mine. It worked just as easily. Just slice that polymer off!

is it just shaving down those tabs so that the rail can slide all the way back to the receiver? Is that the only fitment issues? Also do i need to put the receiver in a vice (therefore needing a vice block)? I have only seen one video and he didnt use a vice to put the new barrel nut on. but he did put the barrel in a vice ot get it off.

When doing any work on the rifle....do not clamp the receiver in a vice....clamp the barrel if you are taking off your flash hider to get the handguard off with the barrel nut tool.

If your upper is clamped in the vice you can twist the barrel in the upper which can cause serious issues such as damage to the ejector...then it's off back to S&W.

Get a barrel nut tool...clamp the barrel in the upper remove the flash hider...then use the barrel nut tool to remove the barrel nut...then you are good to go.

I have the barrel nut wrench to remove the original nut. The new barrel nut and wrench and barrel vice jaws from tacticool. I know to clap the barrel to remove flash hider and original barrel nut. But what about installing the new barrel nut? Do I clamp the barrel again, clamp the receiver or not clamp either?
Just confused because the video j saw he didn't clamp either when installing the new barrel nut.

I would clamp the barrel again while tightening the new barrel nut.
