Default A Question for Fellow Kalifornia 15-22 Owners

I'll be picking up my new 15-22 this Saturday and I'm excited about campaigning this little rifle in local steel matches

I've been "accumulating" .22lr ammo recently since it looks like mail-order sales into the People's Republik of Kalifornia is going to be severely constrained next year and beyond. My local FFL transfer dealer told me that operating as a mail-order ammo transfer dealer might prove to be more trouble than it's worth...

I've been seeing mail-order prices inching up and some dealers beginning to put limits on orders (Bud's just began limiting CCI MM's to a maximum of 5 per order which impacts what is otherwise an attractive price of $7.99 / 100).

So...what do you see ahead as far as price and availability are concerned out here on the Left Coast ?

TIA for any thoughts.

Right now demand is definitely high & prices are increasing as well. Vendors putting limits on purchases are evidence of that. Being in California, panic is starting to set in. So buy while you can & stock up. It's not looking good.

Sneaky!

No need to ban guns....just make obtaining ammo harder and harder. A firearm without a bullet is like a........

(Insert funny comparison here)............................

I don't think its a conspricy per se (thats just what they want us to think...), its more the panic buying and hording that's going on in the US with the possibility of certain someone getting in the Whitehouse.

Agree. Completely irrational. There's a large national outfitter chain that has a store here on the West side of Phoenix just North of I 10. The most common out of state license plate in the parking lot, at any given time, is California. I'm pretty sure they're not in there buying fish hooks.

Any suggestions how to store ammo for a long period of time, I mean for years and protect it from humidity? I do not have a gun safe to place an electric de-humidifier and the silicon bags seems only a short-term solution.

Costco is selling a two-fer ammo can deal (1x50 cal and 1x30cal) for about $20. These are very high quality metal cans with silicon seals.

Fill a few up and put them in a closet or under a bed. Easy 10 year storage.

Just sayin....
