Scope/Charging Handle Interference
I want to mount a scope on my 15-22. Every scope I have tried must be mounted so far to the rear (for proper eye relief) that it covers the charging handle and makes it difficult to access the charging handle. How do I mount a scope (or choose the proper scope) that will allow proper access to the charging handle? Thanks for your time and knowledge.

I like using charging handles with long or extended patches on my ARs that I have scopes mounted on. Look up "extended latch charging handle". Lots of options.

You can buy scopes with long eye relief that are normally used on handguns. They work great on a 15-22 OR you could mount a red dot scope.
Enjoy.

Keep whatever scope you want by getting yourself an aftermarket charging handle with latch or ambi. There are a few options available for the 15-22...such as the NDZ latch, MST ambi, Tacticool22, NLA ambi and what i have the Plinker Tactical with latch.
All work well when running a scope.

You're shooting it from the wrong position. Get a cantilever scope mount and mount your scope with the objective even with the back of the receiver. Square your body with the target and adjust the stock so the eye relief is correct.
I was taught to shoot iron sights with my nose touching the charging handle. I'm 6-3 200lbs and adjust the stock so it's in the second or third hole out for most positions.

I have the Plinker Tactical on my M&P 15-22. Works very well with the Nikon P-22 scope I have mounted. High quality product. Highly recommend.

One other thing to consider is getting a 1/2" to 3/4" riser for the scope mount and try a bit higher cheek weld. I've had to do that on all my AR style rifles.

+1 for what Ghostmutt said.
I have tried and experimented with Plinker, Doomsday, Tacticool T bar with NDZ latch, next level armaments ambi and the revised version with Tacticool T as well as the OEM with beltfeds latch.
In fact the only one I didn't try was the mst.
I still find the best option for me with an ACOG or Eotech EXPS 4-0 and G33 is the Tacticool T bar and NDZ Latch.
Works flawlessly no damage to bar, receiver notch or underside of bar after several thousand rounds.
Just my 2cents.

As Rob1 hasn't used the MST ambi handle, here is a pic
Bodark i have tried several handles from various
manufacturers,i liked the MST charging handle the best, long
wings and easy to charge with a scope even with gloves on.
