Slack bolt catch release
Having put a NDZ sbr on my 15-22 sport i noticed a
fair amount of side movement on the lever
my cure was to put a 4mm ss plain washer either
side of the lever, this has now cured all the side movement

Nice. Although I've seen this fix posted before, and of course, I didn't make note of the size washer used.
Wanting to address this same issue on my rifle. So this was a timely post. Thanks trebor127

Just got and installed my NDZ SBR (at last) and have noticed the same thing. Where did you get the washers and how easy it is to install them?

Any good hardware store should have what you need. And the job is straightforward, and only takes a couple of minutes. But the first time I tried it, I found that the washers were too thick, making the bolt release too tight. So I had to make the washers thinner, regular plated washers probably wouldn't be suitable, so I used brass. Turned out great.

When you say '4mm' washer i'm presuming you're referring to the full diameter of the washer. All the online sources i've looked at only advertise the diameter of the hole, not the overall diameter. Can you tell me what the diameter of the hole in your washers/diameter of the roll pin is please, i'm guessing around 2mm but as the guns are US made i'm guessing it'll be an imperial measurement.

Ok you guys here in England
PM me your addresses and i will post you out a couple....
They are stainless steel,i will have to check the hole dia
as i think the pins are 3/32" dia..i had to adjust the thickness
by .002" ....this is easy by using a small needle file and just
rub the washer using the tip of your index finger on the
file.....(just make sure the washer is between your finger and
the file when you finish rubbing HAHA...you will see)
You will need a small punch maybe 2mm dia and a small
toffee weight type hammer......the roll pin is not to
tight

I have my own tweezers, angled tweezers, which i use to feed crickets to 'Ghost' my Praying Mantis, when she is too lazy to catch food for herself. Will these do or do you need to use tacti-tweezers?

Have to be Matt black tacti tweezers, available from your friendly neighborhood tacticool22 shop site $25
Or you could go for the top of the line Magpul tweezers with storage pocket and safety lanyard. Available in Black, FDE OG or Field Green. $75 apiece.

Teflon washers work great , but it doesn't matter , as soon as you lay the rifle down the tab releases.

So, what we are saying here is that the sbr is manufactured with the width of two washers out of tolerance? Pretty sad if you ask me...

Well, no one did, but as it's an open forum feel free to jump in with the negative vibes.
The fix is for a minor issue that some feel could be better.
Like a trigger swap, a stock change or any other modification or improvement that people make.
Not SAD just making it better or improving the experience.
Isn't it great that people take the time to share experience and help others to make things better for themselves too.
Or is that just me being too liberal in my thinking??????

Didn't mean to offend. Improvements and tweaking are great. But seriously, that is pretty far out of tolerance for the part. Close to 1/8".

Seeing as the SBR just attaches to the bolt release, it would have nothing to do with the manufacturing specs or tolerance of the SBR and everything to do with the play in the factory bolt release catch.
Trebor127, kind of stated that in the title of the thread.
So the moral of the story here is read before you decide to comment. Also if the fix works for the price of a couple of washers, then what is the big deal?
Personally i cannot recall ever noticing this particular problem on my 15-22, i will be taking her out to the range tonight and if, after noticing it and it bugs me, then i'll probably take the nice man up on his offer, he already has my postal address

What on earth would you need to pull that would require that piece of massive overengineering and waste some perfectly good Titanium.....
I'm thinking maybe a spent depleted Uranium Sabot Round...
A very unconvinced Rob1
