Default 15% failure rate

Twice a week myself and my son head out to the range to shoot our15-22's and others. normally we shoot Remington, I picked up 5000 rds of Aguila Super Extra HV, which we used today. 2 rounds out of a 10 rd mag failed almost every time, we shoot maybe around 500 rds per outing, we have use Aguila before and liked it because it's so much cleaner than the Remington stuff, but at a 15%failure rate something must be wrong with this batch. Normally we may see 1 misfire with the Remington, but this is crazy,

"almost every time . . . " probably knocked it back to 15%.

perhaps aguila has super thick cases?
i bot a case of their sv, before i found out it really isn't sv.
it's just pinking ammo.
so, i decided to use it up in my single 10.
30% failure rate.
this was using lite springs that run everything else.
when i replaced the factory springs, it worked fine.
it just is harder to ignite than my other ammos.

when .22 LR was impossible to find I traded some .380 ACP for some Aguila .22 LR. I too suffered an abnormal failure rate. I kept seeing others sing its praises and thought I was the exception. This thread more closely reflects my experience with this ammo.

I wonder how many of these failures are from rounds that came in the new packaging. I have been shooting the older packaging stuff and loving it without failure however I did buy some newer stuff and it seems to not be as reliable. Just my .02

I have 100% reliability when I use my McFadden Lightning loader, but about 90% when I load by hand. I attribute the difference to arthritis in my hands and poor eyesight. Whoever said these are the golden years got the color wrong........it's rust.

The McFadden made a huge difference for me no matter what I was shooting.
