Default How about an M&P 15-9?

Wilson Combat has come out with their answer to the 9MM carbine/PDW hype, the AR9. It turns out that they have decided to not just go Glock, but also offer 2 other mag options for popular 9MM pistols with military and police. They have a Beretta M9 version of course because of the known WC custom Berettas. They also have an M&P9 version, though I have only seen it listed on their site with no pictures of it.

That got me thinking about it as a product offered by S&W. Making an M&P 15-9 that uses M&P9 mags would really get some traction I would think, with all the excitement around pistol caliber ARs. Thoughts?

Since there are no product images of the M&P9 WC AR9, I mocked one up...

There are several companies that make AR-9 lower receivers to accept either Glock or Colt/Uzi magazines (one or the other, generally not both).

There are also several mag-well blocks that convert an AR-15 magazine well to accept 9mm magazines (again, either Glock or Colt/Uzi).

I went the second route. It's not hard to do. In both cases, you need a 9mm bolt. There are some after market AR-15 triggers that do NOT work with a 9mm bolt (many Geissele do not work - some do).

An AR-9 is a total blast to shoot. For less than double the cost per round as 22lr, it is highly accurate, quiet and reliable...

Here's a vid of the wife and I shooting dueling suppressed 9MM SBRs...

With a slide fire stock, it rocks... unsuppressed, slow motion...

Suppressed, regular and slow motion...
