Blue springs
I see alot of threads on the newer blue springs.one of my 15-22 s is an old model and doesn't have the newer blue springs is this a detriment? I e- mailed s&w and they said they dont sell springs. Have any of you guys managed to get ahold of the spring set?

I am really surprised that someone like Wolff doesn't make an equivalent aftermarket spring.

Are you talking about the blue bolt spring or trigger springs?

I ordered two of the blue bolt springs as I have a drop in aftermarket trigger group. I have a generation one 15-22 and had probably around 23,000 rounds through it. I will note that lately even after a good cleaning, I would get an OOB shot. As a lefty, not the most comfortable thing to see just inches from my face.

I have a custom spring design website saved in 'my favourites' should the need to get a new spring ever arise...The flint spring from a clipper lighter is very similar to the extractor spring...I am sure if you bought enough chinese plastic ******* from £land you'd probably be able to find a similar sized spring.
Why on earth S&W do not sell all these parts is beyond me, even so, even if they did, ITAR would mean that I wouldn't be able to get em anyway.
I don't think my spring is blue, it doesn't look blue...should i sell my rifle???

From my reading, I found this information from this forum:

so I'm thinking Slidefire here, The lighter bolt spring and heavier trigger spring may be what you want to increase the cycle rate.
Anyone with the older spring I'd be interested in purchasing it from you.

My RFD friend says he can get most bits from S&W. He has already supplied some of our shooting team with firing pins and he has a new Gen 2 handguard as you probably already know.
On the other hand if you don't have the blue spring then your gun is worthless and you should just give it to me for spares!!

In firearms and artillery where there is an automatic loading mechanism, a condition can occur in which a live round is at least partially in the firing chamber and capable of being fired, but is not properly secured by the usual mechanism of that particular weapon. The gas pressure produced at the moment of firing can rupture the not fully supported cartridge case and can result in flame and high-pressure gas being vented at the breech of the weapon, potentially creating flying shrapnel and possibly injuring the operator.
"The only stupid question is the one never asked...how else do you learn"...my sensei used to say, probably still does.
