Default mp15-22 feed problems

I purchased an MP15-22 in January 2017. Since then I have run approximately 800 rounds through it. If I don't clean the gun each time I have extraction/feed problems with the spent casing being stuck in the ejection port.

I am using CCI mini mag and a new CCI brand I found called CCI AR Tactical. Both types are 40gr. The AR Tactical is supposed to be specifically designed for the MP15-22.

Is this gun really so sensitive that it requires cleaning after 100 rounds have been shot through it?

Nope!!

Did you give it a good going over and clean before the first use? did you make sure the breech area was clean and the rest of the inside of the "upper" nice and dry, not "wet" like a 556 AR.

you only need to have a couple of drops of lube on the bolt running guides and it should run like hot snot

Hope that points you in the right direction

Rob

What Rob1 said......

and the obligatory (YAWN) here goes...make sure you are stagger loading the mags correctly...numerous thread on this.

If the problem persists your ejector could need bending....numerous threads on this.

If the problem persists you may need to invest in the VQ extractor...numerous threads on this (note to S&W - i have run the factory extractor for 1000's of rounds, never had one FTE or stovepipe)

If the problem persists...send the rifle back to S&W and they will repair under warranty.

If the problem persists.....well you didn't try and remove the flashhider by clamping the upper and not the barrel...did you know you can twist the barrel in the upper by doing that.

I can run my rifle for 1000's of rounds before i 'clean' it - no issues....it gets cleaned after each range trip because i enjoy the process.

Thank you. I bet I've over oiled the bolt. Thanks for the heads up.

Mine was that way too. I bought the Volquartsen extractor and a McFadden loader for the mags . Haven't had 1 FTE since. Plus the McF loader is the nuts for loading mags. Can fill a 25 round mag in about 10 seconds. Buying the both of them costs about $50-$60.

Thanks for the tip on the Ejector. I checked mine and it needed a slight bending upward. Now it works perfectly and no more FTE's. Thanks Again!

Scott
