New to the M&P 15-22
I picked up an M&P 15-22 today. Outfitted it with a Nikon P-Rimfire 2x-7x
Will most standard AR-15 parts fit this rifle? Specifically looking at a new grip, stock, ambi safety, and possibly a different muzzle device.
TIA!

Nice looking rifle. I just bought one about 2 weeks ago also. What did that scope run you if you don't mind me asking?

Hello and welcome! Standard AR-15 parts such as the grip, stock, and muzzle device will work. At this time, I am unsure if an ambi safety will work as others will need to chime in.
A note about the muzzle device: Be sure to clamp the barrel in the vice when removing the muzzle device as if you camp the receiver, you will break it.

You will need a 15-22 specific ambi safety such as the BAD *****
The standard AR type will pinch the lower as the lower is slightly wider than a regular AR. There are plenty of links and references on this site to help point you in the right direction.
Other add ons that are 15-22 specific include things like, Charging Handle. Charging handle Latch, Anti Walk/Rotation pins and Speed Bolt Release.
NDZ, Tacticool22 and KNS along with various other makers have plenty of bits to tempt you into spending your money.
Items like mag release buttons, trigger swap outs, muzzle breaks and flash eliminaters will fit as the threads on barrel are 1/2-28 so that alone will leave you LOTS of choice. Then there is hand guards if you are so inclined, for those you will need the barrel nut adapter and possibly the tacticool 22 wrench or make your own. The choice is yours and endless options are there to be had.
Have a browse and a read. Enjoy the rifle and the self torture of what to do next.
Rob.

Thanks for the info! Already have the Bad-***** 15-22 Crank + Short Crank on order. Love that safety on my AR-15.
Took a look at a bunch of the Tacticool 22 stuff and will probably order the wrench and barrel vice clamps just to have them In case. Might even add that ambi charging handle.
Now to steal one of my daughter white crayons to get some tacticrayola going on too!

I did my tacti-crayola with matt white and red model paints, easy to do wipe on then wipe off the overpaint, couple wipes and the slight smear goes away, use water based if your scaaaaaared of the enamel paints reacting with the lower, though they are made for models and models are made of plastic.......
As for the Ambi Handle, I have one and I also have the Tacticool T Bar type, so I will say this based on how I found it...
Make sure the Ambi Handle has the T on it and not the Next Level Logo, simply because the second run ones with the T have a slightly different set of tolerances and fit and function better than the first run, again that said, I had the first run Next Level and when I mentioned it to Jody, he put me on to Next Level and between them, they sorted me with a replacement free of charge, ( Did I mention I live in the UK??) so it was an expensive purchase for me with shipping and import duty etc, the replacement arrived with no extra charges and within a couple for weeks, so a MASSIVE THUMBS UP to Jody and Dave and the rest of the guys with that superb customer service.
After ALL of that and after trying the now defunct, dare I even say it in public?? Doomsday Ambi Handle I have reverted back to my original and my initial choice of the T Bar Handle from Jody, fitted with the NDZ 15-22 specific Latch, by far my favourite for use. I sometimes swap out to the Ambi just because I can but mostly it sits with the T Bar and the Ambi sits waiting for my wife (who is left handed) to have a shoot, but even then, she is ex services and shoots right handed.....
keep looking, them choices are plenty......
Now to persuade Jody to ship me a lightweight 12inch fore end for my SBR along with his appropriate barrel nut adaptor.....
All that brown nosing above should persuade him..... Ya think???

It is not polite to kiss and tell
I'm hanging on to see if Jody is going to introduce a hybrid top seven sided mlok 12 inch lightweight slimline handguard.....all that wishful thinking should persuade him...yeah?
It's almost as much fun adding to it as it is shooting it...
Guess who i took out on valentines day....the wife or the 15-22?

HMMMMMM Tough call!!!!
My bet is that the losing side of that trip still ain't forgiven you entirely....
You go upsetting them Southern African ladies at your own peril, mine has the proverbial Pachyderm memory let me tell you, and you would be surprised at how the power of recall is soooo precise..
if she saw what I just put in for on my FAC renewal she may even just move back to JoBurg....... though seeing whats written down is one thing, seeing the Bill to purchase the said list..
Now THAT could be the straw that breaks the back....

Got around to doing some upgrades on the M&P 15-22 tonight. Added the following:
- Magpul ACS-L Stock
- Magpul MIAD Grip
- Magpul M-LOK QD Sling Mount
- Magpul BAD Lever
- BAD-***** Ambi Safety
- CMC Drop-In 3.5lb Trigger
Might still add a barrel shroud from Tacticool to finish off the look!
Now to get it to the range again!

Depends.. Of course, I took mine off so I could suppress it... Some claim they need the slidefire 'recoil enhancer' too. However, given the light recoil of the 15-22, it is MOSTLY a cosmetic feature.
