Default Replacement Flash hider

I am looking to replace the existing flash hider on my 15-22 with something a little different and was wondering if the guys (and girls) from the UK could point me in the direction of some good suppliers here in the UK.

TIA

Adam

What do you need your flash suppressor to do that the current one does not? Without knowing this, it will be difficult to recommend a replacement that meets your requirements.

Hi Adam,

There are tons of options ranging from £6 ebay/china specials right up to £100+. Sourcing them is a different matter.

What are you going for looks wise...the general consensus is that a muzzle brake/comp/flash hider, does nothing for the muzzle rise on a 22lr.

Ignoring that, i put a Tandemkross Game Changer Compensator on mine...was a bit of a schlepp getting it on (specifically made for 22 pistols) but after i did it looks the business and in my opinion the rifle runs a little flatter and the sound signature has definitely changed, for the better.

You can get all kinds of fake cans, brakes and shrouds, Tacticool 22 even does a 22lr specific brake. Sourcing them UK side, Brownells obviously and the variety of UK black rifle dealers sometimes have a limited selection.

The replacement would purely be for aesthetic purposes. I just fancied having something that looks a little different but knowing how difficult things are to acquire over here I thought I'd ask people in the know.

Thanks for the info Keith. I'll give them a look. By the way I'm not liking the sad face. Can we please have at least the smiley if not the grinney?

They are for my 9mm.....

I have a 9mm SGC LR, also a .223/5.56

For which i'm just setting up the press for reloading, pain in the butt, though once done, I reckon I will reduce the round cost by half so worth the pain initially.

Ah nice. A mate of mine has one of those. Great fun!!! He bought some reloads from our club last night at £15.00 for 100 so if you reload your own you should be able to get it down to less than 15p a round. That's getting near .22 territory.

Down to about 13p a round.

Am a little concerned for your mate though.

Selling reloads is illegal in UK so if your club is selling em I would be very careful if I was him.

I think it may even be a tad dodgy giving them away but don't quote me on that one.

Just saying...

Sorry should have mentioned that they are also an RFD and have their batches proof tested. I am assured it's all above board.

I too was after something that just looked different to the standard birdcage. I managed to get an airsoft G36K flashhider from a member on a UK shooting forum. It took a little boring out but i really like the look;

You need to be careful with the airsoft stuff though as the overwhelming majority of muzzlebrakes/flashhiders have a 14x1 thread, rather than the 1/2" needed.
