Default Rail section question

I should be receiving my Smith and Wesson m&p ar-22 slim rail rifle in the next week or so. I would like to add a rail section to the bottom of the rifle.
Can any one tell me the longest rail sections that will fit on the bottom of this model rifle.
Thank you.

Default Rail section question

What are you trying to mount? Your answer to this question is crucial in order for us to help you. Magpul sells mlok rail sections. They are probably no more than 2-3" long. There may be some aftermarket ones that are longer but you'll have to use your Google fu for that. The idea behind the mlok handguard is to only have rail sections where you need them and not a continuous rail. If you want that then you should find a gen 1 with quad rail or trade someone here on the site. If you are adding accessories, see if there are mlok versions that mount directly to the rail. Magpul makes a slew of gadgets that do.

^^^^WHAT HE SAID^^^^

I have two rail sections each 5 picatinny rails long. One holds a light and the other holds a bi-pod but only when I want them mounted. The rest of the time I get a lighter sleeker smoother bottom section with them out of the way. Check these out. Price is right.

Thanks for the info..I would like to add a vertical grip, and I have a bi-pod with a quick release mount that will be installed from time to time..
One continuous rail just looks cleaner in my opinion,

I understand your point. You may want to swap with someone who has a quad rail they want to get rid of. I have a spare quad rail if you want it but id rather you swap with a forum member helping both yall out.

You can get longer quad rail sections for m-lok but they get more expensive.

You are getting an Mlok handguard, why buy a rail? Why not just buy Mlok accessories that mount straight to Mlok holes?

Both vertical grips and bipods come in Mlok attachment. The grip would attach on its own and there is a Bipod mount available for stud style bipods. By adding a rail you are just adding extra weight and extra bulk.
