Default Hope springs eternal

Hi UK owners,

I have recently contacted a custom spring manufacturer regarding creating a few sets of springs the extractor spring and the bolt return spring and firing pin spring.

They want me to send them my springs then they will quote me a price for a few copies, would any of you guys be interested in this? The only reason i am bothering is someone i know has lost their extractor spring...i may have a few coming from Numrich if they still have stock. I thought i would contact a springmaker to see what they said.

Also if anyone on here knows the exact specifications of the extractor spring and bolt return spring and the firing pin spring, that would mean i could get a quote without actually having to send my springs away.

This is not something I am desperately in need of, all my springs are present and in correct working order, but spares are always handy. I am not versed in anything in the 'spring' world but these guys are 'spring masters' if anyone wants in on this i may consider getting a few copies made.

If not then it is still nice to know that such a service exists.

Great idea Ben.

I would carry spares if they are available, of course it is dependent on price point. In theory a great idea, as long as they don't overinflate prices on us as seems to be the norm this side of the pond.

In principle I'm in, let me know once you do, regarding prices.

Rob.

Nice one Rob, but as you said, depends on price point, i will wait until next week, see what responses i get then, i shall consider sending them in. My comps start in May so i can spare my springs until then...i just dread them getting lost

The idea of having a full set of spares does appeal though.
I will keep you informed and of course if the Numrich extractor order comes through, then you'll be getting one in the post my good man.
