Default Blue Trigger Springs vs JP Yellow

Hello,

Was a bit bored today, so I though I'd do a comparison between the stock 15-22 Blue Springs and JP Enterprises Yellow springs.

All pulls were on a Lyman digital trigger pull meter.
Quote:
Stock Blue Springs
lb oz
5 3.0
5 6.0
5 1.0
5 6.5
4 15.8
5 9.8
5 1.5

5 3.9 Average
Quote:
JP Yellow Springs
lb oz
4 9.9
4 4.7
4 5.4
4 3.3
4 3.5
4 1.8
4 4.3

4 4.7 Average
So, for $8-ish dollars, lost nearly a pound off the trigger and have had few failures (since having S&W fix the ejector) in 500 or so rounds.

This is a plinker kind of gun that I'd be hard pressed to justify installing a nice drop-in trigger. So, for my purposes, the JP Yellow Springs will do.

I concur with your findings.
I used to get 4.5 pull with JP yellow trigger spring and the stock hammer spring (many FTF with the yellow hammer spring).

That was until i dropped a Hiperfire 24C in and now it's a beautiful 2lb....worth the money, like you say probably not...worth me doing it.....oh yeah!

I like the idea of quick fixes. Where did you get the springs from?

Just google, "JP Enterprises yellow springs."

Looks like JoeBobOutfitters has them in stock for $11.50.

Is it working flawlessly? How about light strike?

I am about to change mine to ADC ultra which is a 2.5lb trigger.

Thanks!

When I first tried it in my eagerness i loaded my mag without due care and attention and had one FTF.
NOT ONE FTF/FTE EVER since.
I previously felt the need to load an extra round in my mags when shooting my rapid fire comps in case of FTF. I do not bother any more such is my confidence in the Hiperfire 24C.

The extra hammer fall energy in this particular trigger group is so powerful that it decimates the rim of the cartridge. As long as there is primer in there that thing is going BANG

Have since removed the 'shoe' and i like it better as a straight blade trigger. I love it.
