Default 15-22 Buffer

Has anyone installed buffer on your AR, and if so what do you recommend and where did you buy it.
Also what are the Pro's and Con's to have one installed.
Thanks!

Buffer? The 15-22 doesn't use one. The buffer "tube" on the 15-22 is solid. It's just there for the stock.

What JP said. The buffer, so to speak, is on the bolt (the spring). Even if you decided to lop off the receiver extension and managed to install a real AR buffer, it wouldn't do anything. You bought an AR style 22. Not an AR.

There seems to be quite a few threads/posts in threads recently regarding full bore guns, are people perhaps getting the M&P 15 and the M&P 15-22 sub-forums mixed up?

Well, on an actual AR, if you don't have a buffer installed, you're going to have an interesting day at the range. Not in a good way. That's definitely a con.
If you successfully install an AR buffer in a 15-22, please post the Youtube video. That would be interesting as well.
