Lose that gap
So I decided that, even though I had no feedback in a previous thread, I would go ahead and try and get rid of the gap between the upper receiver and the handguard. Unfortunately I only had limited tools to do the job but it worked out quite well. If I was the owner of a Dremel then I may have been able to do a neater job.
The job consisted of removing a small amount of metal where the end of the handguard touches the upper receiver where the front takedown pin engages. Then I elongated the holes so the threads in the barrel nut lined up. This also stops the handguard from twisting over time which I found happened regularly. All it needs is a little touch of paint where the original screw marks are and it will be sorted.

Would that block work with any aftermarket handguard? Can you just buy the block or is it only supplied with a particluar handguard?

It's probably one of those things that are like rocking horse dung and you can't get sent over from the states!

I think the spacer is part of the NCstar Vism Handguard and would only work with that handguard. Best off waiting to see what Tacticool 22 has to offer and hope they are not ITAR controlled.

Why would a company offer parts to a country that has outlawed semi auto center fire rifles, in which there would be very little in the way of sales.Being limited to .22 caliber makes it unreasonable to import AR parts.

While the UK has outlawed semi auto centre fire rifles, the UK not limited to .22lr.
You can have a .50cal if you have access to range that allows it.
Ask Rob1 about his 9mm or .223 Ar's. The companies would trade and do business with people anywhere but they are restricted by ITAR. It's just a shame that we have to go through Brownells UK to get any parts as they bump up the price and charge a huge fee for the Golden Unicorn with the rainbow hooves to deliver it.
I reckon if they could sell there wares overseas, most companies would.
