Default I ordered a 24C, thanks Ghostmutt!

I took Ghostmutts advice and ordered a new Hiperfire 24c trigger. It will be here in a day or two. My question is, since the "shoe" must be installed or uninstalled with the trigger out of the action with an integral trigger guard, should I install it or not?

I understand Ghostmutt was thinking of removing his trigger shoe completely recently. Did you do it or not?

The install looks kinda straight forward, but does the trigger sit totally vertical in the 15-22? My ALG-ACT had kinda a rear slant to it compared to my AR.

Thanks,

Rick

Firstly, good choice of trigger I fitted mine with shoe on and have had no desire to take it off..... yet!!!!!

I would suggest fitting with on, then if you don't like it take it off, easier than trying to retro fit it you decide that you want to try it.

Either way it's your choice but that's my thoughts.

Mine sits pretty much straight up from memory, but I will double check.

Enjoy once you get it fitted, they are a world apart from the standard trigger. You will not be disappointed, of that I'm sure.

Oooo a name check in the title

First off, i think you have chosen a premium trigger group in the 24C, i have no issues with mine, love it to bits. The first install is straightforward enough following the instructions that come with the 24C, the only tricky part is the tension on the toggle springs and pushing the little retaining piece, but it gets easier, i find an Allen/Hex key works well pushing the piece in.

I would install the shoe first, give it a go. I really liked it, it feels more natural than it looks and it gives good trigger placement each time. That being said i have since removed my shoe, so i can get down the trigger blade even further, i find i can run my finger against the trigger guard and get right on the bottom of the trigger blade....the first few shots i tried like this were all bullseyes so i am going to run this summer season without the shoe on and see how i go.

The best part about this trigger, aside from it's ridiculously clean, crisp break, stupidly short reset and virtually no creep, oh and the Thor like hammer strike, is the the fact that you can play around with the springs and shoe settings to get it to how you want it....for me lightest springs 2lb break and no shoe are my choice this season.

Yes the trigger sits vertical in the 15-22 no angle forward or backwards.

Welcome to the premium range of AR triggers, you will not be disappointed.

WOW!! Installed the 24C and I am very impressed. Absolutely no pre-travel! The trigger with the medium (yellow) springs is very light (maybe 3+ pounds) but the break is absolutely crisp. Probably the best trigger I own. I haven't fired it yet, only dry fire, but it is everything Ghostmutt said it would be.

I also was taken with the trigger after hearing GMs feedback.
£350 and several months later I am still struggling to find fault.

Expensive ? Yes!

Worth it? Most definitely!

Rob.

WOW!!! Super nice trigger. Absolutely no pre-travel, clean break and only 3-1/2# trigger pull. What's not to like? I installed the trigger with the yellow (mid weight) springs and I also did not install the "shoe". I think it looks stupid, and I know where to put my finger on the trigger!

Anyway, I havent fired it yet,but dry-fire is AWESOME!

I have a CMC Trigger coming for my AR, and I'm kinda re-thinking that purchase. I guess I'll wait and see.

Range report will come later

Rick
