This ugly image is my wrist with a nasty burn blister after a hot 22 shell landed on it. "How can this happen?", you might ask. I believe it was from a "magic bullet". When I fired my M&P 15-22, the shell casing ejected from the right, bounced off the brim of my hat, took a left turn downward, and landed under the wristwatch band on my left wrist. There it stayed lodged until I finished my 25 round magazine and realized something was burning.

Always keep other shooters on your right. I had one get in the sweatshirt hood and burned my neck , it looked like a big hickey.

Note, this is one reason why I use a Caldwell brass catcher. Spend the extra money and get one that uses a picatinny rail mount. You can purchase extra mounts so that the catcher can easily move between hosts:

I've had shells bounce off the screen and magically land between my cheek and eye pro. .22lr seems to eject more erratically than other calibers.

Yep had that too when shooting very close to a wall and in the middle of a comp stage so couldn't even stop to get it out, great fun(!)

We BAN every 15-22 owner from attending Appleseed events, just in case the Ruger booger 10-22 owners get upset at the amount of fun seen to be had by others.

Also we BAN said event personnel from "fixing" afore mentioned 15-22s just in case they work better

Yeah, I've had hot brass fly out of my six-shooters and...nope, didn't happen...guess I was having a flashback moment.... Seriously, even with goggles and decent clothes coverage, ya never know when your next door range guy has hot brass headed your way...I try to shoot stationed to the left of other shooters.

Found out the hard way not to wear Crocs while shooting .22 pistol. Hot foot!

my late father shot IPSC in the late 1970's with a woman that had a "butterfly" burn from her 45ACP 1911 in a "not forum appropriate" place... it was both horrific and fascinating to a 13 year old boy... thanks for bringing back a fond memory...lol

Having a hot case go down the front of a shirt is a not-uncommon occurance at my range on both men and women.

Retire welder here and while shooting I have had a lot of cases go in places they do not belong. To me its no big deal about a 1-2 of a up to ten scale.

Get some seriously hot slag inside your clothes/ boots or better yet listen to it sizzle in your ear canal and little things like hot brass will not bother you at all.

Used to weld farm fencing here in Texas in the summer heat, and what is said above is true except the most fun is when you touch the metal button on your blue jeans to the metal post your bracing as the stick welder hits it.

Now the 300 Black out brass that went down the back of my jacket definitely got my attention.

My club has a gender specific ladies pistol league. They learn very quickly to wear crew neck t-shirts and baseball caps when shooting.

Before i was married i used to love getting some seriously hot slag in my clothes (Probably means more to UK members )

Yep - I have frequently had some spent brass land just inside my collar at the range. First time it happened, I think I created a few new words.

Think that may be why I waited until I was 37 to get married.

Ya never lived until you're next to a guy on the KD range firing a M-60

I WAS that gunner for a short while. My issue weapon was a GPMG, American term is the MAG I think.

Beast of a thing to carry, gives ya wood when ya choot it though.
