Default Trigger lock that fits 15-22?

Looking for a trigger lock that fits the 15-22 lower.

I have an old Master Lock trigger lock from years ago, but it doesn't stay in place due to the uneven surface of the trigger guard where it goes to the pistol grip.

Any suggestions?

I have one, thank you.

That is not the purpose of this trigger lock.

Remove the bolt when not in use. Other than that I've seen the ones at Walmart that basically cover the trigger entirely. Found this one just googling...

Didn't your 15-22 come with a cable action lock? All three of mine did.

Most people BMW (complain, moan, whine) about guns that come with a lock. This is the first time I recall seeing somebody wanting one.

Hi gang,

A friend of mine may purchase a 15-22 for their child. First and onlygun in their home. I always got to keep my pellet gun and .22's in my bedroom unlocked (with ammo no less), but that was 50 years ago. Things have changed and I would be the last one to suggest that a child have 24/7 access to an unlocked firearm and ammunition.

That's why I thought a true trigger lock would be a good option for his 15-22. He could cycle the bolt and even clean it if need be.

We don't have children. How do you guys allow your kids to have access to firearms?

Under direct 1 to 1 supervision. ONLY when I am there.

Laws in UK are VERY strict and I am only person in house allowed to access my firearms, however I do instruct and familiarise my boys with them.

Proper structure and supervision is the key to keeping them safe AND interested.

Rob

A cable lock would be the best, short of a safe. The cable lock prevents the bolt from being manipulated and, short of a minor miracle, from chambering a round.

Trigger locks can allow the trigger to be pressed, even if they fit reasonably well. And since the bolt can still be manipulated, that means a round can be in the chamber. Put those two together and you have a recipe for disaster.

Neither of the locks is particularly great. There are versions of the cable locks that can be defeated by simply banging them against a hard surface.

My kids don't handle guns unless I'm standing within arm's reach and watching closely.

Cable lock it is. He is 13.

I bet us armed kids in the early 70's would be seen as terrorists today.
