Best upgrade for the 15-22?
I'm looking to pimp my 15-22. Can anyone suggest any awesome upgrades?
So far, all I have done is add red dot optics.

Barrel nut tool (to make sure the barrel nut stays tight)
Grip
Buttstock
Charging handle
KNS Pins
BAD or SBR
Ambi Safety
EMR
Sound Mod or compensator
Trigger
Handguard,
I guess what I'm saying is that the 'world is your oyster' or more appropriately 'google is your friend' Just make sure that where applicable you buy 15-22 specific items and then it all depends on how much you want to add and at what cost. I've done all the above with the exception of the handguard...which is the final piece of my puzzle.
Get prepared for a costly but very rewarding addiction.

Better trigger.
BTW "pimp" is a word we can do without.

Lots of ammo and range time. I don't know what your shooting history is but if you're new to the sport, all the bells and whistles you can buy won't make your rifle exponentially better. Have fun and enjoy!

x100!.......Just buy lots of ammo......Bells/whistles & headlights doesn't necessarily make you or the gun a better shooter............

No, I think you'd be the John/Trick for paying for the ammo.
Unless you are suggesting that you intimidate your firearms with ammo just to keep them working.... That would just be cruel!

Volquartsen exact edge extractor is much more reliable than the factory extractor in my experience. I'd recommend that, a new trigger, and whatever optics you prefer.

Hiperfire 24C trigger
Odin works XMR
NDZ Speed Bolt Release
KNS Anti Walk Pins
Tacticool TBar charging handle
Troy Alpha HG
NDZ Charging Handle Latch
Good optics of your choice and budget
Lots of mags
MacFadden mag filler
As much ammo as possible
SBR stamp ( for those in US)
Sound Mod ( because I can) :-)
That's my recommendations. ;-)

I would save for the future AR. I purchased a 15-22 not knowing what 22 is...

As already mentioned, lots of good, quality.22LR ammo, perhaps an optic, not a red dot, but good optic. Burris, Nikon, Vortex, Primary Arms or Weaver are just a few.
The most important, lots of range time. The M&P 22 is a fun rifle and a great trainer for a MSR, but it is not and was not designed to be, a “Tactical “ rifle.
Keep it simple, shoot it often and it will reward you. Once you have 300-400 rounds down range, then you will a better idea of what works, what you need and how much you really want to spend. A good optic doesn’t need to cost more than $200-300 dollars.

Totally agree with Hibie 11.
And while bells and whistles won't make your rifle better, the ammo he recommends will make it better "in your hands".

G
The only additions I made was to add the Volquartsen extractor and a Nikon 3x9 .22 Target scope. Shoot it a lot before you start adding things.
A replacement trigger might be another add on I might consider, but I also think the stock trigger is ok.

I agree. The VQ extractor is well worth the few $$ it cost. Allows you to shoot anything you put in it.

Yup, Volquartsen exact edge extractors are so great I put on in my Ruger 10-22 and my Walther P22.
