Question Anti-Walk Pin Kit?

For which trigger kit is the CMC Smith & Wesson M&P Anti-Walk Pin Kit 15-22 22LR required?

Based on the name, probably for the CMC AR-15 Tactical Curved 3.5lb Single Stage Drop-In Trigger Assembly? (MSRP: $189.99, Sale Price: $167.99)

What about the Hiperfire Hipertouch 24 3G Trigger AR15 3 Gun assembly? (MSRP: $225.00, Sale Price: $149.95)

Please rate the two triggers for 1) Ease of installation; 2) Reliability; 3) Trigger creep; 4) Failure to ignite; 5) Operational Issues

I have read a lot of the previous threads and the more I read the less I know. I think the consensus is that CMC is easier to install. However, it looks like both triggers are about equal on the other points. Based on that I lean toward buying the CMC?

Thank you,

Mike

Most drop in triggers are REALLY good triggers, and won't disappoint.

Pick up both; I've found that there is ALWAYS another rifle that wants that other trigger...

I have the Hiperfire 24C which is similar in design to the Hiperfire you posted w/ the upper "toggle" springs (great design). Very easy to install following the excellent instructions. Normally, if any given assembly requires additional anti-rotational pins, it will be clearly stated. Unless the instructions state to not use anti-rotation pins, which some do, I go the extra mile and install KNS anti-rotation pins. If you choose to go that route for the 15-22, you must install the pins specific to the 15-22. They are a tad longer than AR15 pins. The Hiperfire has very, very little to no discernible pre-travel and a tiny bit (1mm or so) of reset. The 24 3G (I believe) uses a curved trigger and the 24C a flat / straight trigger with an adjustable, optional "pad". Very smooth operation and no worries regarding the rimfire "light-strike" phenomenon.

Just to add to Bamashooter's review. The 24C has three different trigger weights to play with and notches on the trigger for the shoe to move up and down to fine tune trigger pull...

or....
Take off the silly shoe.
Go for the lightest springs.
Ride that trigger blade low and get the lightest, crispest pull the trigger can offer.

Sweet.
As the owner of a 24C paired with KNS pins...I highly recommend it.

I do believe I should be entitled to some payment the amount I endorse it. Mr Bender? How about it

I just installed a CMC trigger with the anti walk pin and learned something. Lock tight those screws. After a day on the range, two screws where missing. Ordered another anti walk set to replace them.

Question KNS Kit Screws

I thought the screws on the KNS kit did not need any additional loctite based on the comments in the install
?

The screws which come with the KNS pins have threadlock on them. No additional threadlock is necessary.

Do/should you use the KNS pins if installing a Hiperfire trigger or do the factory pins work fine with the HF trigger?

To answer the actual question; you need* to use anti-walk pins on any trigger system that is in self-contained 'cassette' type arrangement that literally drops into the lower because they don't exert any force on the pins to hold them in place like a standard set up does e.g. CMC's

*You don't REALLY need them on a .22lr but better safer than sorry.

Mike, if you look around online you will find the cmc curved single stage trigg for a lot less than 167.99 I have one coming from Centerfire Guns for $136.44 shipped. It was $128 plus the shipping. They shipped it yesterday.

Which Model # did you order? Are you getting the M&P Anti-Walk Pin Kit 15-22 as well?

Please post an update with your impressions about installation and operation when done.

Thanks

Mike

I ordered part no. 91501 3.5 lb curved trigger.
It comes with the standars antiwalk pins. It is my understanding that cmc will send the pins for 15-22 if you contact them. I have read that in a few places.
I already installed the flat trigger version in my AR. It a very simple install.
Mine has a very crip break with no creep. Reset is short and tactile.
Installation on your 15-22 is exactly the same procedure.
Overall a fine product.

i have recently installed the timney ar targa short trigger and found that i needed the kns anti walk pins....the assembly is a drop in model....just take the old trigger out, remove the safety lever and install the trigger....

what i feel happens is that the fit of the timney is tight and slightly expands the lower...as far as the trigger goes, its amazing....one of the best upgrades i made to my 15-22....hope this helps...

Bob

The response I received from CMC was, they are available on our sight. No, they weren’t going to send them to me.
Wasnt going to pay $19.95 plus shipping for them. Got them at JoeBobs for
$15 shipped. Call me cheap. Lol

Talking MP 15-22 Pistol Anti walk pins

Hello friends,
New to the group from PA. I'm looking for anti walk pins for my trigger 15-22 AR pistol. I bought the 15-22 anti walk pins and they are too big because the lower is smaller on my 15-22 pistol. any insight would be great.

You might as well change out the cruddy factory trigger while you're at it. Your best bang for your buck would be something from Rise Armament. Real decent AR trigger groups and you can find certain models on sale for right around a C-note. Plus, they come with anti-walk pins that work in the 15-22.

I have gone to CMC triggers exclusively. They are reliable in the 15-22’s while some other triggers are not. I use the pins that come with them and a little blue Loctite on the screws. I too am cheap!

The 15-22 has been known to have issues with the trigger group holes wallowing out over time. Anti-walk pins has been the favored solution to solving/avoiding the problem.

It doesn't seem to be all 15-22s but enough that considering installing them is worth a look.
