Question M&P 15-22 Performance Center

Hello, does anyone have some info on the performance center riffle in comparison to the standard sport riffle?

1. Does the upgraded furniture, match grade barrel 18", match 2 stage trigger satisfy the extra $200's?

2. Is there any substantial results in accuracy?

I am poised to purchase and just cant decide what to do. I want to be as tight as I can be at 100 yards. I know most of this comes down to the shooter rather than the riffle in most cases, but for the argument lets say a precision robot is the shooter. Will there be notable accuracy now to the fault of the riffle?

Lastly, could I be equally accurate with the standard sport model with a trigger upgrade?

Buy a base model 15-22 and put what you saved towards a Volquartsen barrel Lightweight Carbon Fiber Barrel for S&W M&P 15-22, 1/2 x 28 TPI Threads | Volquartsen Firearms and an aftermarket trigger. You'll have a (much) better performing rifle. The PC barrel and trigger aren't in the same league as the VQ barrel and a good aftermarket trigger.

Have owned the Performance Center model for 2yrs after buying it online for a price difference of about $150. Considering the upgraded stock, grip, and 2 stage trigger--that I really like--I think it's a value. The barrel, well not so much, although I'm satisfied with the groups at 75yds using a cheap red dot. If I was really serious about going farther than 75 for accuracy then I'd be looking at a bolt action rifle but that's just me. Of course, accuracy doesn't require a nice stock or grip so maybe it's not such a value in your case.
