Cool New Riffle/First Range Report

Just got my 15-22 and headed to the range. Not sure that it needed it, but I did a preclean before heading out.
Had about 5 failures every mag at least. Zero FTF. Not sure if it is failure to eject or extract. A spent casing would get jammed by the bolt as it went forward. Getting stuck in the polymer everyone once in a while.
Is the replacement extracted the fix for this or should I look at something else as well?

FYI fired about 5 differant types of ammo. Every type had equal failures.

Wow, what a hassle. My 15-22 has never had a fte/ftf issue either suppressed or unsuppressed.

Default New Riffle/First Range Report

Is it possible that you bent the ejector while cleaning it? If not, sounds like it needs to be shipped back to smith for warranty repair.

Did you use the same mag throughout?

Used 2 different mags. Failures in both. I guess it must be a failure to eject since the casing was extracted from the chamber and then got smashed by the bolt. I did a thorough cleaning post range, everything looks correct. Extracts and ejects snap caps no problem. Heading back to the range tomorrow and gonna grab another different ammo. Hope for better results. I will report back after.

If I use the 40gr plated CCI mini mags or the 40gr CCI Tactical I have no issues. The Swamp People 36gr CCI hollow points have yielded a few jams feeding

When I use blue box Federal Champion and all Winchester offerings I get fails to feed and fails to extract.

Spend the little extra and use the mini mags.

Smile Follow Up

Follow up. Range Day 2.

After watching a YouTube video about tweaking the extractor arm, headed back to the range today.

200 rounds CCI Mini Mags.

Zero failures and decent accuracy.

Super happy.
