Default Barrel thread size... the other one ;)

Hi to everyone My first post here. Sorry if I made mistakes, I'm not a native english speking.

I want to order parts for making handguard (diy project) for my shortened 15-22.

Do you know the barrel nut thread size?

And, may I please any photo of original nut and handguard converter nut from the "rifle upper" side? Is the converter plain/flat or not?

And, If you have, a photo of rifle upper w/o handguard, I'd like to see the contact surface.

If you are inside the US, I do hope you have a Short Barrel Rifle Tax Stamp for your "shortened 15-22". If not in the US, then disregard.

Tacticool22 (a member here) has a web store front with items specific to the 15-22, including a barrel nut removal tool, barrel nut replacment (used for attaching different handguards), etc. He's done the work, so unless you're dedicated to the 'DIY' route, this is faster/easier/cheaper. I don't know if these items come under ITAR (which you would avoid by going the DIY route...), though.

Knowing your location actually might be able to help move this along a bit (even though you asked for the thread size of the barrel nut; a barrel nut removal tool is easy to manufacture with 1/2" PVC or steel pipe, and then you can measure the thread count/pitch easily enough).

Here's what the stock barrel nut looks like:

I'm from Poland, Central Europe We are one of the most gun-less nation, but in fact we can keep almost all kind of fire weapon after a person has general firearm permission (the only real problems we have with an burst / automatic weapon and supressors).

Very soon we will have more problems because of a new, sick UE law ("anti terrorism", you have the same bull**** in The US...), but still, SBRs are not a problem yet

I aleady made the tool for this nut. But after first problems (I couldn't moove the nut) and gunsmith made all for me, I don't want to touch this nut w/o really good reason.

I've been asking about the opposite side of this nut, btw Thanks for the photo, anyway

I'm talking with Tacticool22 already. Anyway I do not know what he can do for me finally.

I'm building "race gun" for mini rifle ipsc. And for fun, ofc.
