Has anyone had a bolt that FAILED the gauge test?

i'm suspecting mine might be failing once the gauge arrives. because the breach face looks kinda shallow to me, compared to my pistol and by the looks of that gauge as well, although i can't tell how thick it is in that picture they put on document.. plus it's in the danger manufacturing date area.
that said.. i have dropped the bolt a whole lot ontop of rounds, no discharges yet. i'll still replace if it fails though, obviously

Still don't have mine. I checked with the gun shop I bought it from and they said I was good. I have about 500 rounds fired and no mishaps. I also took the bolt out and placed a 22 shell on the bolt where the gauge goes. It looked good to me so I shot at the range using caution. I will post when my gauge arrives (waiting since 3/26/19). When I first called, no one told me they were on back order. I waited 3 to 4 weeks, called and then I was told they were on back order. Still not happy about the wait. I would think they would have made plenty of gauges to go around.

Big thank you to Destructo6 for sending his gauge to me all the was to UK. It is much appreciated. Very noble and kind gesture.
I will pass it forward when I finish with it with all the guys in the club.
Many thanks.

Great to hear at least 1 gauge made it to UK.
I never got mine, nor did anyone else I know.
I’m at around 10k through mine with no mishaps but there are another 8 guys at my club who are waiting to check their bolt.

bolt gauge
couldn't get order to go thru online a few weeks ago, so called s&w with my serial #; they shipped the gauge promptly, and I was able to determine that my bolt was ok...gave it to a buddy who owns a gun shop here in Dothan, AL so he can use it for his and any customers that need it...paying it forward

Ordered mine months ago, still not received it
Not bothered though, the 10's of thousands of rounds i've put through it and a caliper measurement of the bolt face tell me there's nothing to worry about. I only ordered one after clubs/shooting groups put a temporary 'ban' on using 15-22's until they were proven ok. As the ban has now been lifted i'm not going to chase S&W for it

I would love to take you up on your kind offer, there are at least 6 15-22s in my club, the other 5 were purchased after people tried mine.
So far none of us have had a gauge arrive.
If your still happy to forward on, feel free to drop me a pm, I’ll cover the postage and get all the ones here at my club checked.
I’m confident mine is good to go but some of the guys are a little wary still.
Cheers in advance.
Rob

Received and email from S&W a few days ago stating that the gauges are finally on the way but, still nothing so far.
I'm guessing they'll be sending them out in the order they were requested which means I've probably still got a long wait.

Safety Alert
Howdy folks,
I bought one of these m&p 15-22’s today just because it looked well done and fun. I get home, see there is a recall based upon manufacturing date, but s&w doesn’t bother to tell me how to determine when mine was made. Any help in figuring this out is appreciated. It ain’t in my Standard Catalog🤫
Thanks....Arman

I believe this link has been posted somewhere above, but here it is again:
M&P15-22 Consumer Safety Alert | Smith & Wesson
FAQs, Gauge ordering info, etc
Affects MP15-22s manufactured before February 2019. I don't recall anyone saying their MP15-22's bolt has failed the gauge test.

15-22 safety alert
I ended up calling s&w. They had a hard enough time finding my manufacturing date, it isn’t any wonder nobody knows how to figure out when their rifle was made. Mine was Feb.12, 2019, so I skated by. Barely

The gauge is about the same as the rim on a .22LR casing. Set it in the bolt face, if it is slightly recessed, you are all good.

I have 2, 15-22s. Love them. So do the kids. Both bolts pass the gauge but the newer one has doubled a couple of times. Today the one that doubles, fired on dropping the bolt release w/ CCI SV. First time for that. Just be careful out there.

The only way is to follow-up aggressively with S&W to get them to ship the gauge. I finally got a "promise" that mine was shipped a few days ago, ONLY because I followed-up on my initial order of the gauge.
CALL, EMAIL...you have to aggressively stay on them!!

Brian at S&W customer service followed-up with me and true to his word of 9-27, the gauge he said he was sending arrived today in a hand written envelope.
