Mock suppressor affect accuracy?
Hello folks, I have a question about the free float barrel, I installed a mock suppressor and it is tight on the barrel. The threads are just inside the end of the hole, and the suppressor goes inside of the hand gaurd on the other end. I was told it may affect accuracy with harmonics not being correct. I have shot 50 yrds with a 4x Barska scope , seems to have decent grouping within an inch or so but I want as much accuracy as possible. I know I have to do my part but making sure I want my gun to do its part. My question is.. Leave the barrel stock with flash hider , or ok to leave on mock suppressor ( its just for looks anyway) I am just wanting best results, thanks in advance! Edit: click on link to view photo

There is no general rule about changing the weights and harmonics on a barrel; it can get better, worse, or have no discernable change.
However, getting something different by hanging on faux decorations is not the usual way to tune barrel weights.

Is the can easily removable, and reinstallable? If so, off to the range with several different types of ammo and fire groups with and without. As noted above, it may make accuracy better, worse or have no effect; no way to tell on your specific gun and accessories without range time.

Answer #1 - Experementation , with Faux Can , flash hider, and thread protector at the range . With each type & lot of ammo .
Answer #2 - OP reports " within an inch @ 50yds " with faux can . If worst case literal interpretation of up to 1 inch radius from group center , that's well within the expectations for that type of rifle . Declare Victory, and enjoy your tacticoolness .
( If OP means a group Diameter of up to 1in @ 50yds , either brag to your shooting buddies , or engage in some friendly sporting propositions . )

Hey thanks guys, i use CCI mini mag ammo, and the suppressor is hollow on the inside. It can be taken off fairly easy but it was a snug fit on there. I may just leave it and experiment with it. Again I just "heard" it could affect accuracy. May be a bigger issue on a larger round weapon. But im using my 15-22 mostly for plinking and fun

I haven't noticed any difference in accuracy with mine, and I love the look it gives my gun.

I’ve shot mine with the standard flash hider, without the flash hider, suppressed, and with a faux can. POI changed with each. Biggest change was with the real can.
